To their defence, Liverpool has made two signings of note this summer; 17-year-old Sepp van den Berg was bought from PEC Zwolle while 16-year-old Harvey Elliot was snapped up from relegated Fulham in July.
It is quite obvious that both signings were made, not with the aim of playing significant first-team roles in the coming season but are investments for the future. 
So what about the first team?. Isn't there any need for a marquee signing to bolster the squad or one who will deputise in one of the positions...
