great win. i watch the highlight and the hall was filled with more than 15000 fans rooting for the senegalese ladies. inspite of playing under such high pressured environment they still stood their ground to win.. congrats girls

Congrats to our girls but we were wasteful at free throws which gave the Senegalese confidence to level up with us and even led until our coach called to timeout.
The coach has a lot to do with the girls so many things to correct if we are to make impact on the world stage.

This victory does not automatically qualify Nigeria for the Olympics. The top 6 teams from Afrobasket 2019 will play an African qualifying tournament and the top 2 teams from that tournament will play a world qualifying tournament in order to qualify for the Olympics.

The draws for the African qualifying tournament were held on Saturday.

I don't know about the the other one but Nigeria will qualify.

FIBA changed a lot of things at the international scene so there'll be lots more basketball action at that level, for me it's a good thing. It will make the game more popular.

We will fill a 60,000 capacity stadium if Nigeria is playing a football match at home. Nigeria 2009 U17 world cup comes to mind. All the stadiums were filled up during Nigerian Matches.
But I don't know about basketball, cos only few people follow the national basketball teams , unlike football

Incidentally, I live in Kaduna which is one of the hosting cities! The stadium are filled because it is FREE!!! It is either the gate is open or some organisation or the other paid the fee and asked for the gate to be opened! In fact, I got tickets to matches that I have out because of how rowdy the exits are after matches
