You are right on that point, being broke is very relative depending on the expenses and lifestyle of who we are talking about. As someone who earns a decent salary and is not married, I consider myself broke when I have less than 50k in my account due to the way I live, anything below 50k is emergency money and I can no longer spend any how.. but that same amount is some people’s whole salary. So I think we can say someone who has made up to 400 million dollars in his life and is now down to about 2 million has really lost wealth even if he is not literally begging on the street.
