And i was chating with one of my old time friend.we were talking about relationship and she said not untill she gets a decent job she wont go into any relationship.
Her reasons was she wants to be responsiblle for herself and she dont want to b a liability to any one.i was amaze cus it only few naija babe gat this mentality.

Since this is already a topic as per 'Ladies should be able to provide for themselves', some Nigerian women are already seeing it as a major task and it could lead to frustration and exaggerated ego in the long run - 'Its a privilege i can take care of myself, i am not like other women'

It shouldn't be a task. It should be a common mentality. Basic. Dont see it as a competition with other women.

It wasn't in the norms and culture from Nigeria from the start for ladies to be independent so i can understand the problems.

I was making a point in another thread how, over here in the UK, we do 50/50 on dates and some people thought i was saying gibberish.

- The dating dynamics is designed in such a way that the girl is assumed to have lost some value for each (sexual) relationship. Girls now try to ensure they milk the man of something he holds dear - his money. That way she would be assured it is/was even.

- Nigerian men like it. It is one way they exert control. You see a guy complaining how girls are this and that, but the minute same guy makes money...he starts running after same girls. Trying to buy off people's girlfriends with money. This would work a lot of times, because the girls like money.

So...it is in us as a people.

It is a slavery mentality that our women inherited and they are not ready to do away with it. Anybody who provides for your needs will one way or the other boss you, he will want to control everything about your life but women never realize that as long as they can sit in one place watch movies from morning till night while they expect money for food, plait hair and makeup.... I am not disputing the fact that men needs to assist but not all time n it shouldn't be seen as entitlement.

As for the 50/50 dates good for you, but you can go on Quora and read up on how white women use men as meal tickets. So this phenomenon is not uniqueness to Nigeria.
