I subscribe mtn. When I was suscribing N1000 for 1.5g, it wasn't lasting up to 2 weeks before being exhausted. Since I upgraded to N1200 for 2 gigs, I even have to roll over data when the validity period is about to come. I have a feeling that the so-called mtn 1.5gig was actually 500mb while their new 2gig is actually 1g or 1.5g. Try subscribing N1200 for 2g and see the difference.

My brothers and sisters the best way to conserve ur data is to stay away from Instagram. That app is draining both financially and emotionally. What's the point of viewing fake lives of others, ppl showing off to make u feel intimated.
I spend my data on YouTube educating myself and not Instagram wasting away my precious time. Time is very useful in life and Instagram is making enormous cash off ur time and data while u make nothing but complain about data drain.

I noticed that of WhatsApp statuses. Nobody is talking about the silent culprit (google play store & related services),It drives me crazy seeing 569mb used under google framework whatever. Any help?

Of all the mainstream social apps, Instagram consumes the most mainly cause of the fact that photos and videos autoload...

I think the bolded are the aspects of WhatsApp that cosume data the most. When I realised that, I stopped viewing status. Though, status make the App fun filled, but one has to be economical in this Buhari admin.

Google play services are always updating themselves without permission. Some days ago I open play store only to discover that the app now has a new look. Same thing with Google assistant and other Google apps. Imagine you get 1gb data for phone and Google apps alone don chop like 600mb, How data no go finish quickly.

Some of Google's app no go even work with background data restricted.

I view less status on whatsapp these days when I realised it consume data unnecessary especially all those thirty seconds videos.

Google play services are always updating themselves without permission.
Some of Google's app no go even work with background data restricted.

Most people don't know,I've successfully blocked most google play services on my phone but at least 3 stubborn ones remain. If you can block your phone download manager,those services would stop auto updating

Instagram.. You can try using Instagram from your phone browser instead. The videos won't load automatically like the app.
Snapchat.. This one is actually worse than Instagram . It consumes both data and battery.
Once you discover someone's WhatsApp status is a video, kindly vamoose from there before the thing finishes downloading or better still avoid it entirely.
Some kyn games are culprits too.
There's this really nice karaoke app called smule, that's another culprit.

that's not true. Whats consumption is fair especially when you know you are there to either respond to messages or view fewer status.how many really upload much by the way. But Instagram on the other hand, weather u do something or not 100mb is sure to disappear the moment u log in and out.

I do alot of video calling coz my job requires me to be more convincing and that takes more than just mere typing but after that when I still check my data balance it's fair. Instagram to me is like wasting of time, I have the app, it's like my soft porn lol but Bru that autoplay feat is specifically to keep u logged in. Even now the USA govt is planning to move a bill to barn that feature in online apps coz it's the main cause of addiction as well as other stuffs. The videos keep playing and you keep clicking and next thing u know 85mb is gone, then u keep thinking about that last video u watched and something is urging u to go back, that's how data keep draining. Should I even talk about the live videos, u see the notification that ur favorite comedian has gone live and u want to join then next thing u invite urself to the video call Bru ur data is screaming help and u are no more listening again lol

For me Instagram consumes less data than what's app.. you see that what's app status that is the main culprit. I have many female friends that just like uploading Snapchat videos. So in the process of maybe wanting to see the last picture they uploaded I would've passed through like 9 Snapchat videos they did and no matter how quickly I scroll through them what's app will download them in the background for me. And considering how large Snapchat videos are in size that's already maybe taking like 6or7 mb per video and times 9 will be approximately 54 mb per one contact and I have over 350 what's app contacts.. so I'll still stand by my word that what's app consumes more data than Instagram these days . tomiwa20 this is my data usage on what's app just this month
