I worship God and pray every day. But I am not sure that God was “the creator” and I don’t care. Did this God also create the universe? According to the Gnostics, the answer is no. That god, the “creator”, is sometimes called Jehovah or Yahweh. He was akin to the building contractor. Maybe all he did was write a bunch of physics equations, and completed them.

well according to our current understanding of the cosmos, there is no need for any god (contractor) to create the universe.
except you want to define the laws of physics as god which would be logically invalid

To say that all of the beauties of God's creation came about randomly is ridiculous. The person who believes in the theory of evolution makes a choice to believe it. I believe they make that choice because the lifestyle they want to live has no place for God. If there is a Creator, then there is a God. If there is God, then there is a Judge. If there is a Judge, then there is a judgment. And if there is a judgment, they will have to stand there one day. So they have to try to find a way to write God out of the script.

no one ever said the universe came by random chance. all we are saying is the universe can come by the laws of physics. meaning its plausible for the universe to come to existence.
