Number 4 is the most dominant spirit affecting youth and driving them to either embrace crime or depression and suicide. Especially the males, you don't know what it means to lose your worth as a person just because you can't provide for you basic needs, you will be driven to do anything just to get out of that mess

since the rich has dominated the economy.... they make the rules and they make it in such a way that it suits them.. hence anyone that want to be rich must gather enough energy to break even. A rich lady told me pump and plain that she sent her child to school where they pay 1.5m because she wants her child to be connected to d rich. She said connection is key. Na there i give up. Nowadays u want to send ur child to umukoro grammar school and u want him or her to be very rich.

like i said to the other dunce that came with this kinda crap you are typing... please specifically point out where i excused crime? this is why i made my points bit by bit in different paragraph so people like you wont misconstrue my words

lolz, i am d other dunce oo. Incase u don't know, the message ur passage passed across is that u can't always judge people because reality and circumstances are different thus justifying whatever crime they engage in as a means to support their reality or circumstances.

Although u didn't say that directly. That is the exact and unambiguous message u passed across.

Or what u do u mean by u support the OP but circumstances and realities are different. You went ahead to describe some people's ordeals and ended with op wouldn't understand why people without papers engage in crime abroad since he is not there. What does that sound like to u, if not justifying

Young man incase u don't know or u didn't intended it to, the message u passed across that of justification

I may not entirely agree with you, the problem of our today youths started when parents told them to go to school get good grades and a job was waiting for them. This advice was given in ignorance, most of our parents as a result of them pioneering the university education got jobs after obtaining a university degree, but considering population growth that system is not sustainable and won't work now because few business have been built and sustained over the years.

Now imagine if you were told that 2+2 =22 for over 20years, changing the answer to 4 will take some time to get used to. The fact is that most parents didn't discern the future of their children, the economy we presently run is a skill economy meaning that a man with a skill and no formal education is preferable to one with the opposite. I'm sure that this economy is going to change again in the next 50years.

Now a young person sold a lie of education for job sees another fellow with no education no skill no business driving a luxury car, living large, and command so much power, it's only natural to want to be like such a person after all we were taught to aspire to be like the best in the society.

Least we forget the online scam industry was created by the Nigerian government during the sagari government, students were sent abroad on scholarship then the country went through a recession and the government stoped every form of support to these students abroad, may of them were left homeless and hungry and their survival instinct kicked in.

To solve this problem we need to understand that it will take time to solve the problem, secondly we need to stop the name calling and blame game, we need to restore equity and fairness in our society, we need venture capital to ensure businesses grow, we need to orientate our youths on the possibilities in our present system and allow them follow their dreams, we need to make sure that our youths think for themselves.

U are reasonable. Only few reasonable individuals know that the civil service employment education system we run is no longer sustainable. It was sustainable in the sixties and seventies because we had fewer graduates and enough oil revenues to sustain it, but now with the growing number of graduates amidst declining oil revenues it is no longer sustainable. Manufacturing would have been a better alternative but our leaders focused on oil revenues in the early days of globalization when Europe and America were moving their factories abroad. Asian countries took advantage of this and some of them became wealthy. Things are now difficult because of protectionism and other unfavourable trade practices from developed countries. So it is going to be difficult to create jobs in Nigeria because we need both technology and money which we don't even have, and the little investments we receive from other countries will only do little to upset the unemployment problems. What will happen as things get much harder is that politicians, tribal leaders and religious people will scoope on these problems to bash whoever is in power that they don't like by instigating the masses against the government. We are seeing this happening already, but the fact remains that Nigeria has a bumpy road ahead. Although I don't want to sound pessimistic but things are not going to get better any time soon. We should have taken advantage of some many things in the past to build our economy, but unfortunately our leaders were not foresighted enough to understand that oil revenues would not be enough to sustain a large and a fast growing country like Nigeria.

Spirits that make "SOME" Nigerian youths

Not Nigerian youths, stop generalising.
Some of us spent our teenage years in the sun and rain so that we could live well starting from our twenties.

All these mumu articles self, go and improve the economy so that youths can have better opportunities. Nigeria is not the capital of fraud. undecided

Countries with the biggest hackers and fraudsters don't make noise about it.
Did you hear about the 3billion dollar scam in China? By 6 Chinese? Recently.
Their government works quietly. Here we allow the west to play saint and demonize a whole country cause of some few scumbags. And our efcc wants to be part of ThE trend by releasing statements that they are also working when we know. They ain't doing shlt

Is it not this same country that fellow Nigerians including police see young successful people as fraudsters undecided
why do you seek justification from countries with bigger crime to justify your own?....are you not ashamed that Nigerians are not trusted everywhere we go? not even within the African continent..is that a good thing? Now both the innocent and the gulity are all painted with one colour. We cannot makes friends or initiate any international business online that is legit , without the banner of mistrust coming in the way becos we are Nigerians.

Some Nigerians seek riches at any cost and our society see their fraudulent activities as part of the hustle of life just becos the economy is bad..to them man must survive

You lament that we are called names by the West becos of crimes committed by a few people..few people ke? so many Nigerians are into sheddy business both within and outside the country but we choose to dig ur head in the sand that we are innocent and being demonized by the West for nothing; yet we hail these yahoo and drug peddling men when they drive their flashy cars around and spray dollars in parties without asking questions. We know the money is not clean but we dont care anyway..its all part of the hustling we will say "its not their fault that Nigeria is bad". Now, what do you expect the rest of the world to say? watch and do nothing? while these dark men send vulnerable people both young and old to their early grave due to their drug peddling and internet fraud..

Our society is so sick that some Nigerians did not see any thing bad with Naira-Marley and his internet scam related issue with the police..yet you say we are being demonized. In as much as we are bedeviled with bad leadership , we also have ourselves to blame for this moral nonsense happening in our society and therefore we need a thorough sober reflection on how we found ourselves in this sorry state of allowing greed and materialism to crowd our sense of humanity and decency

The problems are starker than you have painted it. There are obviously legit hustling teenagers, but you need to go on fb to know how bad things have become. Almost all the kids I know growing up in my locality have turned out worse off - openly displaying cultism and yahoo lifestyle. You can almost tell that things have really gone from bad to worse - even for those in the Higher institutions: most folks now resort to internet fraud, wire, online dating scams, cultism etc.

Bariga Surulere Shomolu Fadeyi Mushin Abesan Estate etc. Just name the place in Lagos. Same in the East - mostly drug lords and all manner of Vices.

The earlier we acknowledge there is a problem the earlier we can begin to find solutions to it.

Sadly the only feasible solution is good leadership: and people trade good leaders for tribal preferences.

To add to the list is Betting. It has destroyed the youth's creative and innovative thinking. The earlier it is controlled the better for the future generation. It has also caused the increased fast lane money syndrome in our society today.
Hunger destroy the youths creative and innovative thinking. How can one be creative when he is hungry, when there's no light. Imagine i have been working on a project months now but nepa nor gree allow me finish. The environment is not conducive for one to be innovative.

This is a stupid write up
And can only be written by an insecure individual
Do you know that unemployed people, single mothers, the disabled are entitled to income from the govt of the West? How many Nigerian youths have access to that?
The older generation destroyed this generation but have made you believe the Youths born in the 80's and 90's are the problem and the cause of Nigerias dented image, was there Yahoo in the era of Obj and and of course we buy it like the dummies we are.
Now go to the streets and see tens of millions of youths even children of Nigeria toiling away in the sun for next to nothing,
Anytime govt offers employment for 100 positions, 10,000 apply and you have the guts to blame the youths?
Mehn don't let me vex this morning!
So your solution is to cause others pain to enrich yourself abi?..which ever way you look at it..if your means of income is related to internet fraud or drug peddling, then you are obviously causing so many suicide and depression.

I don't blame you anyway, you are obviously a victim of a sick society such as ours..if you were born in a family where you are shielded against the harsh reality of life,I am sure your brain would not be program this way.Anyway you guys should stop all this becos in one way or the other innocent Nigerians are being demonized and stereotyped where ever they go. Its not a good thing.

FG is making money from betting. Who will then control it and how?
Betting is not the problem of Nigeria. The govt is.

No mind them, someone worked hard from teenage, hoping their hard work will pay, today they are in their 30s and 40s, they can't get jobs because politicians share the available jobs among their children and wards and then tell the children of nobodies to go and do business. Nepotism has destroyed many dreams in Nigeria today. Unfortunately, many of us join these corrupt rogues called politicians to label the hardworking unemployed lazy. We have many unemployed/underemployed doctors in Nigeria. Will a lazy dude survive medical school? Haba Nigeria.

How is being the poverty capital of the world the fault of the youths? Are you people normal??
There is no solution you dummy
It's cause and effect
Put garbage in, get garbage out.
A country that abandons it's youth would be plagued by its youth, it's only common sense.
There is a saying in Yoruba
The child you refuse to train would sell your house and gamble with it.
Are you worried about yahoo and drugs? Kidnapping has come to stay in Nigeria, more is coming
Once again it's only COMMON SENSE which most of you don't have

Bloody cretinous criminals giving excuses for their criminal activities!

It really takes an especially stupid person to see a pattern of unemployed people and ignore socioeconomic and political issues.

Blaming the poor for being poor is the typical nonsense of an oppressor. But it's also typical of idiots who desperately need someone to take out their frustrations on.

Again, before you fix your nasty mouth to condemn the youth, how about you do something to fix the systemic issues.

Continue writing this, I don’t pity you na your children I pity. Leaders don get sense Dey have paved ways for their own children, make you Dey dere Dey write just because you feel oppressed by others who have made it through one dubious way or the other. I hope you leave a good legacy and platform for your children because by the Time they are old enough to start making a living and with the way Nigeria is collapsing daily, I hope they don’t regret you brought them to this world.

Everybody liking and sharing are biased like you
Is it compulsory you bring a child into this world
If because you want a good life for yourself and children who didnt ask you to bring by force you want to do crime hurt others to earn a luxury life
Now imagine if everyone is like you won't the children you bring to life experience being scammed or hurt just like you did to others
Nigerians are kind of people that don't have deep thoughts despite we have been taught that cutting off the head is not the solution to headaches we still refuse to learn

It is you and people who supported your irrational thoughts that needs to be pitied not the writer because he has said the truth like it or not it remains until we fix it.

For no reasons should bad leadership or ecomony be the reason you involve in crime its for you own greed so stop blaming others for the bad you decided to do

Look at it the average cost needed to feed well in Nigeria per month is less than #20,000 despite the inflation . If you want to go and eat one plate at restaurants for #2500 na you sabi.

Good people
