How can Nigeria spend $61b to free South Africa from apartheid when we don't have upto that amount in our foreign reserve. |

Weathered:I don't blame them. I blame our useless leaders doing eye service to African countries when they should have use our oil boom money to turn this country into the likes of Singapore. Imagine, a country where $61B were dashed out to just South Africa. Can imagine how much was given out to other countries, in a time when we needed to fix our infrastructures to be like Europe. The idiots had no plans for us the generations that came later. 1 Like 1 Share |

Iamgrey5: Mandela doesn't represent all South Africans. Ask any South African here or on any other platform when they 1st heard the word "Nigeria" & you're going to be surprised. |

XhosaNostra:From the research I carried out, your tribe-XHOSA- is the perpetrator of the heinous acts against other foreign nationals, not the ZULUs! The Zulus are peace-loving and accommodating people! Well, Almighty God will judge everybody according to his work! |

soul95:Nigeria's debt was self inflicted by embezzlement. We had oil windfalls in the 70 as well as the gulf wars in the 1990's. The mass looting accounted for our debt to the Paris Club and not from our budget. 2 Likes |

XhosaNostra:They fought for themselves with songs and banners! Right. So those who went to Libya for Guerrilla training did what? The finances to mount world pressure on the Apartheid government, against the British, as well as to pressure the UN came from where? The money for air ticket and the feeding of the exiled freedom fighters came from where? Where did you even think the money in purchasing the arms of the ANC came from? The students who fled to other countries got their finances and upkeeps from the bush men in South Africa I guess? It's obvious that the ANC led by Mandela scammed other African nations by not teaching you your history properly. 3 Likes |

UdechiHD: Exactly how many South Africans did you feed? Because the majority of them were at home FIGHTING. Yes I said fighting. It seems you don't know the real history, other than the make belief one where you emerge as a hero that will never get glory. |

Under the previous government, the South African government had to apologise for what they did. https://af.reuters.com/article/topNews/idAFJOE8270A820120308 Nigerians seem not to realise the full implications of electing(?) and supporting an incompetent person in this social media age. The whole world will know that the President is incompetent and will hit at Nigeria and Nigerians. This is their best chance of going Scott-free. This reminding South Africans of what you did in history is not a Foreign Policy. It is pity-party and it is very silly.

XhosaNostra:We are not asking to take the glory. History will always judge Nigeria fairly in the role it played in ending Apartheid in South Africa. Remind me the first country Mandela visited to thank after his release from prison. Nigeria! Yet, during his burial we were barred from even paying tribute to him. The glory rather went to his oppressors, the British and the Americans. |

Iamgrey5: Lol, look at it this way. Take any group consisting of a few members, let's say The Jackson Five, for instance. Only one of them had the pizzazz & It-factor, that's Michael. Nelson Mandela was the Michael of the ANC because of his own personal allure. People liked him, but not as much as they liked Chris Hani. South Africa shuddered & went up in flames the day Chris Hani was killed. They had to announce a state of emergency, that's how tense things were. I'm sure had he lived, he was going to be our 1st black president. [ https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=eE2P8RbIL8s] |

Ghana gave Guinea a grant of $10 million grant in 1958 when France cut off aid because Guinea opted for independence. that money is worth more than $1 billion today. Ghana offered hundreds of south african students scholarship to study in Ghana. In Accra, there was a hostel near the Accra airport that was used strictly to house south african students in Ghana.
