Before I go on, think about the roles you normally see parents play in the cartoons you've watched.

Most of the cartoons I've come across usually portray standard working class parents, some complete with "lessons" on the virtues of getting a job and "salary jokes"

So you can imagine watching a cartoon for kids where the parents are entrepreneurs!

WHAT!!!

I find that commendable.

Entrepreneurship is a career option. I don't think everyone is wired to be an "employee"; there is a place for innovators who will create the jobs.

I feel it is a bit hypocritical not to inform children of other career options besides the cubicle life - and still keep on grumbling about how there are no jobs...

(In case you are wondering about the cartoon, I am NOT an affiliate of the show. I'll only tell you I saw the show on the JimJam TV channel...)

The name of the cartoons is Dot, it's a story about a smart little girl named dot whose parents are inventors/entrepreneurs and her dog she has a close friend and together they have many adventures which she usually report on her vlog at the end of the day. It's interesting, I sometimes watch it with my kids.

Thanks for sharing

You are absolutely RIGHT!

I like the idea of letting kids know they have options

Some of the books I've seen recommended for my kids create a myopic worldview of just paid employment as the "ideal" - or even ONLY- career path

And then we wonder about the high unemployment rate

Thanks again
