I thought some miscreants supporting crimes perpetrated by their brothers always claim if Nigeria is good, they won't be in SA. Abi UK no good for her citizens again?

What I understand is that SA has good proportion of her citizens illiterates & lazy, so making the country somehow a goldmine for educated and hardworking foreigners. But be that as it may, some criminals go there for crimes and when caught, the blame is at the doorstep of buhari.

Apparently, unless these data do not capture both legal and illegal immigrants, the Nigerian population in SA is small and cannot be the reason for afrophobia targeted specifically at Nigerians. Are some of the Nigerians there loud and shady? Yes. But there are decent Nigerian profs and doctors and other professionals there as well. These are usually not loud and obnoxious compared to traders (same as traders in Nigeria) let alone Yahoo! Yahoo! and drug dealers. Nigerians in SA are like Nigerians in Nigeria: they come in all shades and colors and comprise of the best, the good, the bad and the downright ugly. I don't know if Nigerian professionals in SA and the non-criminal traders and artisans communicate at all. These people of different social strata should start communicating to dispel the false narrative and also to detach their honorable image from that of the few bad eggs among them.

PS: All Nigerians in SA went there legally at first. So everyone of them was documented initially. Depending on how they revise their documentation, some formerly legal immigrants who did not honor the terms of their visa become illegal and may or may not be captured in these data.

I saw that too. SA govt cannot give 800K Nigerians visas. That info came from fake Nigerian govt who have no idea how to collect and use data. That is why 90% of all data in Nigeria are fake

most Nigerians there are like cancer no matter how small in number they are. No one support killing by one African country killing other African countries, bane of Nigerians have been indiscipline and greediness.

When I saw that stats,I concluded that we can't fight SA,but with this 27k,we can,but I ready one article just now that say the largest telecom in SA (vodacom)was owned by a Nigerian.If true,that's another barrier.

Nigerians are not the biggest foreign/immigrant criminals in any country. They are even nowhere close. The news you hear are those pertaining to Nigerians, and which the tribally-aligned Nigerians have over amplified. Also, we know that some other African nationals in foreign countries commit crime and identify themselves as Nigerians just because of already dented image. There are several videos on that aspect online. Nigerian govt needs to work with the embassies in Nigeria to issue visas only to genuine people who have been cleared by the authorities such as EFCC. But then, there are more than a few closeted crooks in Nigeria who will still seep through such a system

Lagos and Abuja with the highest population of South Africans dont have up to 5,000 south Africans with both combined.

South Africa has businesses in Nigeria, but there citizens working in those businesses are in the minority.

Do you know the total population of SA? Its >> 55 mill. If you add these numbers by the OP up, not even up to 3 mill.

All my life in Nigeria apart from conferences i attend I have not seen a south African in our streets before.
