Problem With Bes And Blackberry Torch by Adexy001(f): 12:14pm On Oct 28, 2010
Hi guys, i just got a blackberry Torch phone and it seems to have a whole no. of problems which I heard is peculiar to the phone. Firstly, it does not have a Wap Browser so it cannot connect to the internet. Also, it comes with an Enterprise set up instead of BIS therefore, it cannot allow configuration of email on the phone. I have requested that the phone service book be sent to the phone which has been done but to no avail. I must quickly say also that I had returned the first one I was given because of this issue thinking it was because it was branded AT & T. Techinicans have worked on it and they seem not to know what the problem is.

However, I need clarification on the below:

1. Is this problem peculiar to all Blackberry Torch phones?
2. Is there anyone using same ype of phone and had the same issue?
3. if you did, how did you resolve it?
4. Can it be resolved in Nigeria?
Looking forward to your comments. Tnx guys!

Well to answer your questions, the problem is with the phone, got one myself last month and i sold it about 3 weeks ago.The phone is still new and it came with the new OS 6,so i think our networks here in Nigeria are yet to set up a setting for the phone and for the particular new OS.But they are going to resolve it soon, probably in the next 6-8 months, cos the phone is a new one and with new OS.Everyone using the new bb torch in Nigeria are getting the same problem for now.Just return it and get bold2,thats the best bb out there.Hope this helps, take care.

hmmm actually u are quite wrong the network works fine with the torch if you can actually get one that is ok the phone has a lot of problems and is very finicky at best like mine worked finr but the touch screen was messed up wouldnt work properly i was told there was an update that would fix this so i updated and the touch screen was working but i couldnt browse on the phone kept on bringing an error that i had no browser service books even ehen i did so i quickly downgraded it back to the original os that came with the phone. @ op your best bet is if you are in the us keep returning the phone until you get one that works perfectly or get a bold 2

Hi, i have thesame fone too and i had desame problem with it, but i think it is a Nigerian network thing. Anytime i am in the Uk, it works perfectly. i have taken mine to zain on sanusi fafunwa, and the parameters was put on the fone manually, and it worked perfectly. So if u can take the fone to your service provider, i think they would fix it for u, but cannot be done automatically for now.

I still have no idea why people are buying that overpriced piece of crap that is the Torch 9800.
Vote with your dollars and stay away from that crap until RIM gets the message.
Please return that 9800 and get a bold 9700. It's cheaper and better. That is all.
