We will somehow find a way to abuse this. The desperate ones may begin to chase first class by all sorts of dubious means.

Recruitment is done by the Central Bank of Nigeria with headquarters in Abuja,not the state branch of cbn.
They should also ask themselves why would they offer automatic employment to first class graduates of economics from Ebonyi and not those of other states?
Either the commissioner is being deceived or he is deceiving the governor.

Another thing you don't understand is that some states are always being left behind in the quato system of which Ebonyi state is one of them.
So if they have said this, then they know what they are doing.
Often times CBN usually place advert for recruitment and mention the states that applicants must come from.

The number of CBN staff from Ebonyi State is abysmal, this is one way to enable them to fill up part of their quota

My people, the reason for this is not far fetched. Ebonyi people under CBN employment are few compared to other states in Nigeria. I doubt if you can get up to 10 persons from that state in CBN. The only way to close that gap is by this move from the CBN Governor instead of throwing the job open to all Ebonyians irrespective of class of degrees and grade.

Trust our politicians, Ebonyi state government is now making it look as if the state Governor had gone extra mile to secure the opportunity for the state.

I tell u most solemnly that Ebonyi state currently has the least number of CBN staff. Pegging the recruitment of Ebonyi Indigenes to First class is even a way of limiting the number to balance up with other states.

Why only Ebonyi?

Imagine if the CBN Gov had been from Kano state and the recipients of this gesture are from Katsina state. Children of hate and anger would have been crying Nepotism, Northern Agenda etc. Is this a Southern Agenda?

Nepotism has been institutionalized in this country. A whole central Bank of Nigeria. Whatever arrangement Eboyin state government has with CBN is Nepotism at best.

The CBN is supposed to be an institution where every Nigerian have equal opportunities to work. Not a particular set of Nigerians from certain states.

So what happens to the first class economic graduates from other states?

If Eboyin state civil service commission had planned on taking all first class graduates and absorb them into their civil service it would've been commendable, but a Federal government institution openly endorsing Nepotism for whatever reason is not acceptable.

It is Ebonyi State and not 'Eboyin'

It is not easy to have First Class in Economics. They would be few in number. Maybe Ebonyi state is least represented at the CBN.
