Improving you vocabulary doesn't necessarily mean you should learn complicated or confusing words, which could leave your audience perplexed rather than impressed.
The whole point behind improving your vocabulary is for you to communicate (speak or write) more clearly and precisely.

Why you should improve your vocabulary:
1. The more words you know, the faster you can input and process information.

2. You will be able to communicate more clearly and consisely.

3. New words open your mind, and learning new words is fun.

Here's how you improve your Vocabulary:

1. A word a day: Learn a new word everyday. Look up new words in the dictionary. Don't just know their meanings, see how they are used too. You could also subscribe to some word-a-day websites.

2. Read atricles: By reading articles, newspapers and magazines, you get yourself exposed to new words.

3. Engage in conversations: Strike up meaningful conversations, listen to people speak. It can help you learn new words. When you hear a strange word, jot it somewhere or remember it by heart and look it up later.

4. Use the Thesaurus: Look up words in Thesaurus and you get more similar or synonymous words.

5. Play word games: Word games such as 'Scrabble'; 'Anagrams'; 'Crossword Puzzles'. To mention a few can help you learn new words.

6. Watch Movies: Watch 'educative movies' and be sure to learn new words
