Dear nairaland parents, Despite admonition for parental guidance and reduction in excessive TV for youngsters in the home, I am faced with the challenge of choosing at least what my kids watch. My kids (6 and 8 YOs) seem to have caught the Zeeworld bug recently during the long vacation from school. I'm however surprised why at their ages romantic Indian movies should be their new best TV channel. Should I be concerned and adjust privacy settings or should I just see it as the replica of back in our days of Sunita, The burning train, Daramvia etc. |

They are both PG 13 and not suitable for their age. Don't let your children watch more than their little mind can take. Reduce TV time and make sure they watch educative programs at this formative stage of their life. Gosh I detest that zeeworld, it is a channel for shallow minded people 1 Like |

You want to go full parent- put them on ceebeebies and PBS KIDS.Cartoon network, nickelodeon and Disney junior are entertainment. Pure entertainment. Nothing more. Zeeworld is honestly not that risky as Indians are conservative and will not show sex. It is however very silly ( my own thoughts) with ridiculous plot lines and cartoon villains. It may however give kids the wrong impression about Indians. So your daughters do not grow up thinking Indian men are world class romantics.Forget those movies and shows . Indian men are world champion wife beaters and internet sexual harassers ( bobs and vagene). One reads about outspoken women in villages being gang raped to put them in their place. Just sayin l. Also I guess you may be a conservative Nigerian Christian. Those who say Harry Potter should not be read because it promotes witchcraft. Just in case you are, remember that Indians are Hindus and so they are idolators. Some of this will come through in the shows. Put your kids on ceebeebies and PBS. 5 Likes |
