Innovative. Nigeria Police, very unrefined set of annoying people.

In 2016, I placed a distress call across to the nearest police station close to us. Informing them of the presence of armed robbers in my area.

Though they responded and eventually caught one of the robbers.

Then they started shouting on top of their lungs. Calling my name for whatever was their silly reason.

They be like "Who was that ABC that called us on the phone make we even know am?".

Chai! Naso I come dey fear make the robbers no come hunt me for calling the cops on them.

I regretted doing that. For the next few months, I was scared to sleep alone or even stroll out in the evening for fear of been attacked.

Do they have one for xenophobia?

One way of fighting xenophobia is sterner action against crime. In a high crime society, violent xenophobia attacks can arise spontaneously so the society is already a gangster paradise.

During the dying days of Apartheid, crime rates were high but could not easily be distinguished from the often violent agitation for black rule and the end of the racist policy. It was only after the ANC came into office that it became clear that South Africa had a severe crime problem.
