It is disheartening to know that the act of lying is becoming a culture to Nigerians as some do make a living out of it (e.g comedians). Unlike growing up as a child, parents, guardians and teachers in our society would discourage young ones from telling a lie because God forbids it, using the holy books( Bible, Quran, etc) as backings. Likewise, the laws of the land constititionally go against it but ironically and unfortunately, the Nigerian government and politicians, then and now, have always lied to the citizens, one way or the other, as we find ourselves in the present state of development.

There are quite prominent lies that fly around and people do not see any wrong in them. I wish to state some but I hope things will change for better sooner.

GOVERNMENT " The government does not have money to pay minimum wage"...

" We are eradicating poverty, bringing millions of people out"...

CELEBRITIES " Marking birthdays with self acclaimed age...

FOOTBALL PLAYERS " Always using football age contrary to real age"...

PASTORS " You must pay tithe" ...

PARENTS " You must top your class because I used to take first position during my time" ...
" I married your mother as a virgin"...

GUARDIANS" Fond of using turtle in story telling"...

MUSICIANS " I have billions of money in my account and private jet to fly you round the world"...

STUDENTS " Always claim to be broke even when school section just resumed"...

COUPLES " I love you"...

POLICEMEN on any crime" We are on top of the situation"...

BANKS " Customers interest are protected"...

MARKET TRADERS " True, I have no gain in what I am selling to you"...

LANDLORDS " I am only helping you tenants by not charging you much"...

I am in dying need of financial help. I am a single mother suffering and going through hell. My child has not gone to school this term because I have nt even cleared the bills that have accumulated over the years and she is now currently sick and I have tried every thing possible to help him. I ave run to people I know can help but nothing is forthcoming. She has typhoid and I ave only been administering herbs nd she is not showing any sign of improvement. I cant even afford two square meal a day nt to talk of giving him good him medical attention. I ave done everything possible to at least treat his typhoid bt nothing is working.

I avent taken him to a hospital due to lack of fund bt I ave proof dat he hasn't been to school since dis term began. I ave different letters from his school notifying me of his accumulated debts all through last year. I can upload them if u want me to.
2) I am sorry it was a mistake. My baby is a boy, he is 6 years. The father abandoned me since I got pregnant. As at last year I was into petty trades, their was a woman who used to give me markets on credit and I will oay him after I sold everything but she is aving challenges too recently. I cant continue with the business,I later started teaching in a pry school. I was there all for two terms then I stated cooking in small scales for sale. I was doing this until recently that the business died down. I returned back to teaching bt since my baby is sick nw I avent been going and my salary is on hold.

3) I wnt lie, the shame is the reason why. I knw I will be insulted and may still not be helped, seeing what u did in ur diary really gave me hope.

Then take him to a pharmacist, tell him to give you a list of drugs you need to buy, remember to collect the chemist/pharmacist 's number because I will like to talk to the person directly and if that isn't possible then snap and send the list of drugs and send them all to .........

As an update, please d chemist I met in my area advised me to take him to hospital to confirm his case. He said he need to be sure his case is typhoid before he can prescribe drugs, he said it may cost us more if we go to hospitals since there is no government hospital around here he now recommended a lab dat can run the tests and it will be less expensive.
He gave me his number and I snapped his chemist too like you instructed.
I will wait for your next instruction about this.
