The trial of soldiers that stole N400 million from a dignitary they were escorting to Sokoto begins.

The Nigerian Army on Tuesday began the trial of the former General Officer Commanding, 8 Division, Sokoto State, Maj Gen Hakeem Otiki, over the alleged diversion of the sum of N400 million by some soldiers in the division.

Here are photos and video from the trial.

Recall that the Nigerian Army had on July 21 begun the quizzing of the former GOC, the missing N400 million said to have been stolen by escort soldiers in the division.

5 soldiers had been confirmed to have carted away a consignment containing the money, while on an escort duty from Sokoto to Kaduna states in the first week of July 2019.

The money was allegedly to be delivered to a Very-Important Personality in Kaduna.

The army’s spokesman in 8 Division, Lieutenant Audu Arigu, had confirmed the incident, adding that investigation had commenced into the incident.

He identified the runaway soldiers as Corporal Gabriel Oluwaniyi, Corporal Mohammed Aminu, one Corporal Haruna, Oluji Joshua and Hayatudeen.

I don't know why some soldiers has always put the Army in bad picture. If not working with Kidnappers, they're working with the Boko Haram, and not Boko Haram they're always in one negative news or the other.

The 80,000,000 each and everyone of them will get is good amount of national cake to rescue them from everlasting sorrow if the soil

Is either they invest with the money here in Nigeria or they travel to cote de voire where they will enjoy there life to the brim, build new house start a new business or rather fix the money in one of the banks and get access to France where they will be given asylum permit

Trust me if this country has favored them what so ever they wouldn’t have done that because sooner or later they will have 400M but let me tell you they can never work for 36 years in service and have 8M talkless of 80M. , it serves the GOC right , they should speak for the weak and everything will return to normal
