This country is amazing.
I returned home from work and saw a bill for TV n radio license fee from orile agege local govt.
Who else has received same?
I don't hav a TV or radio station and I don't do business at home.
Am I been charged for watching my own TV set at home after paying dstv and electricity bills?
See attached doc for your reference.

Oga, don't come to social media n cos unnecessary noise to deceive people that you normally deceive...

Local governments have been collecting this revenue since time in memorial in Nigeria especially in a state that doesn't play with tax collection like Lagos but it must be a business premises (lock up jobs). Also you must pay your trading permit. This is common with shops on the streets....

Like I said keep deceiving people u want to deceive. You have just made an ignorant person happy this morning.

You have not even paid last year own sef....Oga go n pay ur tax!

hello sir!
Are you OK?
What will I gain posting this to deceive anyone?
I live in a rented apartment in the said local govt.
Our land lord brought this bill for the tenants to share and we refused.
Take note, it is strictly a residential apartment.
No shop whatsoever in the compound.
I work and pay my tax to LIRS for your info.

Why wouldnt the beautiful country tip to brokeness , since what and the only economic policy of survival strategies we can think of at FEC is Rugaciousness. Haaaaaaaa. No creative thinking. No local content industrialization in fossil economy sector, no new refinery , no petrol self sufficiency for an oil producing economy, we keep on practicing rentage economy collecting tax and tarrif from IOC. We neglect the food basket of our economy resources to be ravaged by Machinery from west african state ( Benue and Taraba) No Mechanize farming in the last 5 Years and more. Imagine spending 20% to 40% of our scarce resources to fight sabotaging war in the North East for close to 9 And ten year now and still counting. We directly and indirectly exposes our fault lines to the outside worlds. Look at PI&ID. This is a symptoms of a country @ Precipice. I remain positive.

I don't know about residential apartment, but commercial buildings paid such when I was worked with a LGA in Lagos.
Also, when I tried getting a state of origin cert from my state(Osun) more than 10yrs ago, I paid the fee but it was negligible. Both was less than #200

Very nice piece bro.
Honestly, any economy that is based on collection of fees/ dues and receipts from the populace will never survive, especially in a weak country like Nigeria.
Local governments and States should learn how to diversify by creating business empires that will generate income. A situation whereby government officials with dearth of positive ideas on how to transform economy of the state into a productive venture, resort to extortion from hard working individuals leaves less to be dedired about. What stops state mechanisation farming and small scale establishment of cottage industries? Citizens must pay tax, agreed but one who is contributing by PAYE should not be muscled and ruffled into paying for flimsy tax that adds no value to life.
If we must copy copy what the whites do, can we emulate their dividends of good governance and obedience to the rule of law? undecided
