Following the killing of thirty six cows by mysterious thunderstorm on ‘Oke Owa’ at Ijare community in Ifedore Local Government Area of Ondo state, traditional rites are to be performed at the scene of the incident.

There will also be fumigation of the scene by the Ondo state government to prevent epidemic.

SUNSHINETRUTH correspondent who was on fact-finding tour to the sacred hills, observed that bodies of the dead cows had started decomposing three days after the incident during a Saturday rainstorm.

Speaking on the update, a member of Olujare-in-Council, the Agbaajo of Ijare, High Chief Idowu Awe, said under Yoruba traditional, nobody could touch any human being or animal killed by thunderbolt, noting that after three days of the incident, the ritual rites would commence.

Also in an interview, a 77year-old woman, Mrs Kosemani Akinro warned that more cows might still die mysteriously if they failed to vacate sacred places in the town.
