I just bought a fairly used latest model Mercedes from Copart USA.

The car will soon arrive the Apapa Port. I have never dealt with car importation before. The vehicle is for my personal use, not resell.

Kindly advise how I can safely get this vehicle from the port of entry to my home, South South, Nigeria.

I am not used to such long distance driving, so I'll certainly need an experienced driver. I don't know what papers security agents ask for. I'll like to learn about all the car documentation and car servicing required for such road shipment.

I need advice from Nlanders who are experienced with this kind of shipment, pls. Thank you

Ensure that your clearing agent didn't cut corners and all duties are duly paid. All documents are handy , you choose to register in Lagos or down south south.
Get a good experienced driver, dats all

Your potential greatest wahala is customs on d road,cos them no de use eye see recent Mercedes,BMW,Audi etc(talking from firsthand experience) and dem pass 20 b/w Lagos and Benin.
In order to avoid this,beg your clearing agent in the name of God not to cut corners.Tell him to let you know exactly what fed govt says peeps should pay for that particular car,he shouldn't try to 'help' you(that's what they claim when shit hits d fan)
If possible, travel to Lagos and supervise him while he pays most of the fees,then you can take a flight home if you don't want to travel with d car yourself or you hire a driver n sit in d front seat jejely.
