I did as advised and the following day I was called for a test. On getting there, I met three(3) other guys who also came for the same purpose. The Chinese HR guy came and administered the test and afterwards only two of us passed and were asked to come back the next day for the oral interview.

The next day I went for the interview and after being drilled and asked several questions I was offered the job. But my zeal and interest for the Job died the moment I was told the job conditions and pay.

Working hours are from 7am to 6pm daily, Monday to Saturday including public holidays. All these for a monthly pay of 35k

I was given the offer letter to take home to sign if I agree with the conditions and return it this coming Monday to resume work.

My fellow Nairalanders, would you advise that I take this job offer considering the conditions attached or reject it and continue job hunting hoping that one day favour would smile on me I am confused, please help a brother

Also, work hard like you never schooled and pay attention to whatever they do there regardless being your study area or not . although the pay seems bad but you can just decide to take it for a couple of months so that you can be able to add to your experience , it may increase your chances of getting a better job

I work from 8-2:30 or 2:30 -9pm and off day on mondays for that same 35k. I complain a lot but looking at yours, it's worse. Don't take it, you will get frustrated.

Employers are taking advantage of Nigerian graduates because there are no jobs in the country. I would take the offer if it is related to my course of study but if isn't I won't. You can make that more amount being teacher and conducting home lesson.

Bro, I got such offer from an Indian company years back. Work hours is 7am to 7pm a day off in a week and pay was 20k per month. The Oloshi Indian said he'll add 5k to it for me as I have over 8 years work experience in oil and gas. I rejected the offer because it was insulting to me. Try weigh your options because one fact is that the Chinese job would never allow you look for another job. Then calculate you daily expenses to see what you'll be left with in the end. Bros ull never be same if u work there.i worked in a steel firm at ikorodu cos know na ikd u dey go but i advise u continue ur job hunting it will smile at u.but if ur living wirhin ikorodu axis and the company near u u can try it just a month but truely truely i tell u there is no career in a chinese nor indian company.

Chinese companies, they have always been a slave drivers and we are more slave to them now that the government have used the Nigerian masses as collateral to borrow money which the masses does not know what they are using the money for. About that job, it really slavery and you will end up working on Sundays. Why not take the job now and see how it plays out in three months vis a vis your transport, feeding, rent, healthcare, clothes and others then you will decide whether to continue or move on.
