[size=14pt]DPO despoils woman to death in Aba[/size]

A middle aged woman Tuesday night was alleged despoiled to death by the Divisional Police Officer (DPO) of Ndiegoro Police Station in Aba, Abia State, Mr. Kabiru Ishaq, inside his office at the Cameroon Road Police barracks.
The lady whose name was given as Princess Chinasa Onwukwe, a relation to a serving senior police officer from Abia state, was said to have been invited to the police station by the DPO for an undisclosed matter.


Saturday Champion gathered that Princess Chinasa Onwukwe from Igberre, went to the police station in company with a young man, simply called Nkem, who waited outside while the lady went in to see the DPO.

Saturday Champion also gathered that as the lady discussed with the DPO, at a point the DPO began to talk to her about having sexual affair with him right there in his office, but the lady turned down the DPO�s advances. This did not stop the DPO who locked the door to his office to prevent his subordinates and visitors from having access to the office.

Investigations revealed that when this did not make the lady to succumb to the pressure from the police officer he then offered her some drinks which he allegedly added some drugs into, and the lady innocently took and later fell to sleep.
It was at this point that the police officer took off the lady�s underwears and began a marathon sex with her that led the lady gasping for breath as she foamed from the mouth and blood gushed from her private part. When these happened, the DPO rushed out of his office and beckoned on his junior officers to take the lady to the hospital.

The DPO had to call the officer in charge of patrol, one Inspector Godwin Ejimadu, who used the patrol van to ensure the lady was taken to the hospital, carrying her out through the back door, but she gave up the ghost on the way.

The lady was confirmed dead at the New Era Hospital, Aba, where she was rushed to for medical treatment.
Saturday Champion gathered that Mr. Ishaq immediately sent an SMS to Abia State Commissioner of Police, Mr. Jonathan Johnson, claiming that the lady slumped in his office during a visit to the police station.

Some police officers at the station said the DPO has been in the habit of turning his office into brothel, even as one of them who spoke under the cover of anonymity said, �the DPO has been a source of embarrassment to us. He has been sexually harassing our female officers here and nobody questions him.�
When contacted, Aba Police Area Commander, Mr. Ebere Onyeagorom, confirmed the incident, but added that no official report had been sent to his office.
He, however, noted that the Criminal Investigation Department (CID), usually takes over any matter that involves death.

Onyeagorom who explained that the first thing the CID does is to conduct an autopsy which will determine the actual cause of death, declined further comments.
