the canceled ones how can it help our day to day live undecided

How does a car with 1,500hp help ur day to day life? Does that stop people from buying them? Meanwhile wireless charging might not mean anything to u, but it means a lot to many especially those that have invested in wireless charging pads allover their house and on their office desk. Once u start using it u won't want to go back to cables. Have u ever stepped into a car, drop ur phone in the center console and it starts charging without dealing with cables. And water proofing is gimmicks too? Really?

And did someone just ask me how reverse wireless charging help ur day to day life? Well it won't to u because u either do not understand what it does or just don't have a reason to use it. Just imagine u are using ur Samsung Galaxy buds to listen to music and u run out of juice and u don't have a charger nearby. With ur Samsung phone u are covered, just drop the ear buds on the back of the phone and it will wirelessly charge.

Those things u call gimmicks are very useful to some people and this is why Samsung sell millions of phones.

Of course. But the day xiaomi start putting wireless charging on their phones it stops becoming a dumb tech.
Most of the new cars now have wireless charging equipped Just like triple camera was a dumb tech until everyone started doing it, hey look we even have quad cameras now on phones. Just like 3gb of ram was too much for a phone now we have phones with 12gb of ram. Everyone criticized Apple for getting rid of the headphone jack until xiaomi started removing it from there phones now it's cool. Hypocrite.

I am being straightforward on this,I am not leaning on xiaomi but the fact is samsung claiming it is feature rich doesnot mean better

You sir are bang on the money, and 100% objective. I love Xiaomi phones because they offer value for money, although that space is being encroached into by some other Chinese brands. I have had both good and terrible experiences with Xiaomi phones, but it hasn't changed my overall opinion of Xiaomi, I still rate them highly.
As for Samsung, yes some of their midrange phones are over priced, but you can't argue with their flagship phones. They cater for a certain range of users, and they sell very well in Nigeria. I agree with you about DEX and reverse wireless charging, they are very cool features, and they are not gimmicks.
It's just painful to see people committing the same offence they accuse others of, namely being subjective and extremely defensive whenever their preferred brand is questioned.

Thanks. I'm not a brand loyalist, I use whatever phone suits my need. I'm using a Samsung right now, before that I used an LG and xiaomi. Every phones have their pros and cons. There was a time I even used an infinix and there are still some things I loved about it. I just detest when some people act like one brand is the best thing since sliced bread and then badmouthing every other brands. It has become the norm for many people on this forum to hype xiaomi phones and then condemn every other brands especially tecno and infinix. I love xiaomi for trying to bring the balance between great specs and price but men people need to take it easy.

It's gonna have same architecture it was lacking in gpu department so that will not be a problem anymore. Then 2021 is with amd that's laptop graphic processing it's gonna be the best.kirin 1000 would be mad with 5nm manufacturing .
Another reason about my point with xiaomi is the fact that mi9 came February but millions exchanged it for k20 pro and another for mi9 pro people have been using s8 since 2017.
I'll get the s11 and use it till 2024 that's why i skipped the s10 but if i get the k20 pro before next year july I've changed it, Samsung is premium

True but I'm talking about flagships, the s10 is far ahead the k20 and mi9.
You can deny it but the general public knows it.
If s10 was sold at 400$ no one would buy mi9.
The m10 screens on the s11 next year too.
They are too many premium things in Samsung flagships which most people skip and which tech enthisiasts die for

And that guy that mentioned me before no the rn7 doesn't take better pics than the m30s

saying the s10 is far ahead of the k20 pro is a lie,
samsung has ip rating
wireless charging
subjectively better camera
samsung dex

but have you forgotten the k20 pro is a faster device even for the price, the k20 pro also gives you a bezeless view compared to the unsymetric cutout on the s10 undecided
k20 pro has faster charging
miui is better
better dev support that the samsung
and I bet you the k20 pro has a more regular update schedule also cheesy

Bros there's no point beating around the bush. The S10 is an all round better phone, don't even compare them. The k20 pro is a better bang for ur money but the S10+ is a flagship phone while the k20 pro is a flagship killer (not a mid range phone but not flagship level either ). Better display, better camera, more features. If ur gonna spend $1,000 on a phone then it better have everything. That is the S10+.

xiaomi phones have wirkesss charging. the Xiaomi mi9 came with the fastest wireless charging then and even reverse charging.

the Xiaomi mi 9 pro has the fastest wireless charging and maybe the reverse charging. please be informed. aside this addition, you really argue clearly. I like that except for few subjective facts here and there

Thanks for bringing this up. Now this is for drjprince that said wireless charging is a dumb tech just because the xiaomi phones he know dont have wireless charging. Maybe now it is no longer a dumb since xiaomi flagship has it. I just don't like it when some people blindly defend a brand. It's just like me saying 120 or 90 hz refresh rate is a dumb tech just because Samsung phones don't have it yet.

How can anyone even say MIUI is better than one ui. At the end it comes down to personal preference, but MIUI still looks like something in it's beta while one ui is one of the top Android skins. In my opinion only oxygen os can genuinely stand against one ui.

Dude no be fight. Name a xiaomi phone that can stand against the Samsung Galaxy note. Look I'm not against xiaomi here, they make great phones at good prices, but so are oppo, Asus and many other Chinese oems out there, this is good for the consumers. In fact these other oems are the reason Samsung released the A series so they can compete in the mid range market. But when it comes to flagship give it to them.

And the Galaxy note is not all about the s pen. They got the best display (no xiaomi phone comes close), top of the line camera, water proofing, fast wireless and reverse wireless charging, Samsung Dex, etc. Call them gimmicks but if u are gonna sell a phone for $1,000 then u better have all these things. And it's really really pathetic to think MIUI is better than one ui. I have both a Samsung phone and xiaomi phone and I hate MIUI, love one ui.
While I'll agree that the Samsung flagship is a lil better, it doesn't mean they're not comparable. I don't think a heart rate sensor is that expensive that xiaomi can't put it on their phones, i mean it's present on a $26 mi fitness band. Maybe they feel it's not relevant.
Can I say because Xiaomi still put IR blaster on their phones mean Samsung can't or makes it better?
Btw the charging speeds of the Xiaomi mi 9 pro vs Galaxy 10+

Then if it's Huawei, forget it
Huawei has been doing crazy things in the flagship segment.
Huawei flagship is equal to/might be slightly greater than Samsung flagship but their phones are just as expensive anyway.
Huawei became no 2 without the US market,
If not for the recent US issues, Samsung should be very worried about Huawei
Competition from huawei, xiaomi and other chinese OEMs sent Samsung packing from china, the world's largest smartphone market

There is no feature that Samsung can put in their phone that xiaomi cannot add. Even tecno can add wireless charging, heart rate monitor, qhd oled screen and ip68 water resistance. These technology have been available, it's just a matter of hiring the best engineers. The main problem is would u spend so much to buy such phone when there are trusted brands like Samsung around?

Xiaomi have a target market which is mainly in India where standard of living for most people is below average. Same way tecno have a target market which is Africa. If xiaomi make a phone with features like the S10+, who's gonna buy them? Because for sure the phone will be expensive (they remove these features to cut down the cost as much as possible). Let's say S10+ costs $900 and xiaomi makes a similar phone and sell for $800, u know people would rather buy a Samsung for 900 than xiaomi for 800, brand loyalty. Plus the US is one of the major msrket for Samsung, they can afford such expensive phones, xiaomi don't even seel their phones in the US officially.

This is one of the reasons LG, Sony and HTC are going down. It's not like they don't make great phones, but when u make a flagship phone and sell for same process as Samsung flagships, then ur gonna run at a loss. Where the real competition is right now is the flagship killer segment which is where OnePlus are focused on and where xiaomi are dominating too.

You have a point sha
But when you check the price difference between a Xiaomi flagship and a Samsung flagship, then place them side by side with what's missing in either of them, you'd still see that the Samsung is overpriced. It's not just all about cutting corners.

Xiaomi is about 10years old, and I'm sure by now they have their loyalist too and more in the future to come, because I'm very sure someone that can afford to use $500+ to buy mi 9 pro should be able to afford $600+ s10+

Good analysis but I can't help but notice some misconceptions. True Samsung & Huawei make great flagships (especially with their exclusive screen tech and camera tech respectively) and Xiaomi is midrange king.

This doesn't mean Xiaomi don't have their Black Shark, Mi and Mix series especially the Black Shark 2 Pro & Mi Mix 4 excelling in the necessary markets they're needed. This is why they ventured into opening physical stores in Europe.

I've come to realize that Nigerians misconstrue bloated pricing for quality and superiority. That aside you see people quickly digressing in a conversation comparing a midrange and a flagship as if Xiaomi does not offer true flagships too.

The truth of the matter is until Xiaomi revise their pricing strategy which aims to peg profits to 5%, you'll always see a Xiaomi device priced competitively. That doesn't mean they offer less.

Good morning

Basically Samsung flagships are overpriced, there's no doubt about that. But u cannot deny that they worked very hard to get to where they are dethroning companies like Nokia. Back then they were not shy of adding everything to their phones, both useful and useless features, they didn't stop innovating, coupled with expensive ads until they got where they are today. I don't think xiaomi make more money from their mi series, where they make a lot of money is the mid range and flagship killers and it's the reason they don't have too many outlets in Western countries like Samsung do. Samsung can afford to make only premium phones and still make their money, same cannot be said about xiaomi. So it's a matter of investing in their comfort zone. Though with time they will catch up.

The black shark is not ur everyday phone bro. How many people do u think would buy it? It's targeted at the youth who play games on their phone. How many people have u seen using a black shark? The design of a phone speaks a lot about how successful it would be. Make it too aggressive and it will only be admired by tech experts while the majority of consumers would ignore it. It's the same with Asus rog phone 2 which technically should be the best phone out there by realistically it won't make much sales.

A few things come to mind, like if I drop this phone can it be fixed? What if something goes wrong? At the end most people will only admire it but won't buy.

Lol it's just because it has cheaper mid-range in Nigeria.
In india the m30s is a killer with it's processor beating every snapdragon 600 series not the 700 sha, it's 48mp is better than redmi's.its cheaper than the note 8 pro.
It's the most reigning phone in mid-range India but will not come to Nigeria 6000mah we will miss.
Anyway more people buy rn7 to rn4 before Samsung brought real good mid-range here which are still more expensive.
The a50 has exynos 9610 better than all the sd600 series in redmi (without 8 pro) but it's 90k which is too expensive

Redmi Note 8 pro is up with the best processing unit which is offering the best performance, and no one complains when phones with sd offer you such high priced phones with zero performance.

The main and only reason I'd choose a Xiaomi over any other brand is because of Third party support.
I use a Redmi Note 7 and I'm already on stock android 10 (not a big fan of MIUI) and for steady updates. There are far more tech heads than fan boys here on Nairaland and as of 2016, Xiaomi where fearless of Sending their phones to deep unknown markets with reasonable prices, what other brands avoided and isn't it now that Almighty Samsung just started to make mid range phones at reasonable prices.
Ask Elijahdre and Kulimart about those years.
It's very simple Good phones are getting cheap and cheap phones are getting good. Even Apple learnt the hard way
