Many smartphone brands now go for the full-screen front design. We see this especially in high-end to mid-range devices. But what about the low-end devices? Well, Xiaomi appears to have a pretty cool solution in the works with its latest patent.



In the patent listing, we see a smartphone design with a front camera crammed somewhere in the upper corner of the front panel. The cutout for this camera seems to be smaller than the current punch-hole setup we see in many devices. As seen in some of the pictures, this cutout may not even be necessary.



At first glance, this setup may look strange. However, considering how multiple-camera setups came to be on the rear of devices, we may eventually see the same happen with front cameras. If or when this happens, then Xiaomi’s solution may really come in handy.
