I kind of stumbled on this for the first time and am a little confused if the commonly known *Nigerian camphor* are really camphor or mothball |

Camphor is a complex organic compound (terpene) usually gotten from the camphor tree and its usage is majorly medicinal due to its properties. |

Mothball (the nasty smelling ones we are used to) on the other hand is a small white solid composed of naphthalene it sublime slowly and is usually poisonous hence it is used as a pesticide |

Actually, what we all call camphor isn't camphor. It is Mothball, used and placed in between cloths to serve it purpose and resist some kind of pests etc. Camphor is quite diff from mothball its crystalline with a strong pungent odour and can be used in cooking and religious purposes 2 Likes |
