G.E. locomotives are for haulage [heavy freights]. They max out at 120kmph. These are primarily for passenger service.

GE does passenger too though maybe not in Nigeria.

Rail projects are rather expensive for the state govts. Except if you are not talking about state govts that are still lamenting their inability to pay N30,000 MINIMUM wage

Regional government comes with resource control, my friend. Some states will be able to do it. Imagine where most of the development go and where the resources come from. Which mega project is presently going on in the Niger Delta?

Exactly the point I was making on the first thread on the trains. Many Nigerians just talk about what they know nothing about out of ignorance or non patriotic attitude towards their Country. If they see these trains operating in China, Europe or America, they will be jumping up and down applauding. This is good development no matter how little it is. It is left for continuous improvement to be ensured.
