The 2018/2019 employed civil servants, deployed to ministries and the twenty seven local governments of imo State has appealed to the conscience of his Excellency, Governor Emeka Ihedioha's to come to their aid, over non payment of their salaries by the Imo state government.

The over 1,700 civil servants made the appeal while speaking to Imo Breaking News on Monday in Owerri, through their representatives who preferred to speak under protection.

According to the unpaid servants,"we were duly interviewed and documented in 2018, and then got employed by the government of imo State through an offer of appointment letter which we got in April 2019."

"the job being a civil service job obviously has Job security, and we accepted it in good faith. Most of us resigned from our previous jobs at private firms and relocated back to imo State."

"Some of us who do not have shelter had to borrow money to rent accommodations in our tvarious local governments council/ ministries of their civil responsibilities, now our creditors are on our necks and we do not know how to go about the payments."

They stated that since their employments by the Imo state government, they have been going to work on borrowed transport fare, a situation that now make them laughing stocks in their various neighborhoods and in their work places, adding that their co-workers also given them cold treatment at their respective offices.

They pleaded that as duly employed civil servants who secured their GenC69 notification of appointment letter bearing their annual salary, it is expected that they completed evert requirement for takeoff of their appointments and should be paid their monthly salaries accordingly.

They also informed that on the 19th of August, 2019, The group beckoned on the Governor, Rt. Hon Emeka Ihedioha to assist them in paying their salaries which the governor agreed to pay.

Explaining further, they said the Eastern lead newspaper dated 13 September 2019 reported the head of service of Imo State, Barr. Nma Oloma as saying that the group will receive their salaries and salaries arrears up to September 2019.

They prayed that the state government should allow them to work as they truly desire to join in the committed effort of the governor to rebuild Imo state.

The group appealed passionately to the Governor to order the release of their salaries and salary arrears to reduce their sufferings, as well as motivate and strengthen their faith as good citizens of imo State, in order to put in their best in the civil service and
contribute their quoter in the rebuild imo project.

The same fate some folks are facing in Ogun State Civil Service. Politicians have turned youths to puns. They do things when they are pleased forgetting these are the people that brought then to power.

One thing is certain, we are now wiser, seeking and winning another term will be an herculean task for some of the first timers. And if at all they win, their regime will always be taunted.

As I advise those in Ogun State, look for another job. One day, we would win the war and their children will reap from their deeds.

Why didn't they ask their former Governor to pay them?

Because they have seen that this man looks quiet, they want to write letters everywhere.
