Smoke55:This is the same Yeske here, I've stopped using that moniker. I'm Igbo and living in Onitsha and I tell IPOB believers to their faces that I'm an APC and Buhari fan and I hate IPOB and Nnamdi Kanu and what has happened ever since? 2 Likes 1 Share |

Area4Area:well said, also IMF taking notice, which means USA is paying attention AU taking notice EU in general and France in particular benefit from Nigeria open borders. Countries that export fuel to Nigeria are impacted as we reduce smuggling of fuel out of Nigeria meaning we can reduce fuel imports. 1 Like |

johnmartus: Shame to you. I guess the Northern and Western borders are dominated by Igbos. The firewar cars are owned by Igbos. Buhari is an economic failure, but this policy of shutting down the border is a good one. 1 Like |

Area4Area: You should cover your head in shame that Nigerians were begging Ghana not to close down their businesses. Ghana is growing at about 8% per year while Nigeria's is less than 2%. In the .ext 5 years, Ghana per capita income will either match Nigeria's or even overtake it. These were people previously washing plates here in Lagos thinking they've arrived London. |

urahara: Are you sure it is jobless? Ghana unemployment rate is only 6.7% which isn't high. Nigeria's 23%. It is estimated that 2 in 5 Nigerians are either unemployed or underemployed |
Re: Border Closure: Sleeping Giant Nigeria Stirs And entire World Takes Notice. by urahara(m): 10:19am On Oct 25, 2019 |
grandstar: But most of the jobs in Ghana are in the informal sector. It's just the same way Thailand's 1 percent unemployment rate is that way because most employment is in the informal sector. https://www.modernghana.com/amp/news/839031/still-no-jobs-in-ghana-despite-economic-growth.html |

GenBuhari: I have always said that the Igbo s are the richest tribe in Nigeria. A secession will impoverish them and leave them destitute. They'd be forced to flee to the Southeast with little or nothing. There would a deluge of refugees. There would be complete chaos. There would be millions of angry Igbo who would be seething about a non existing utopia as promised by Kanu. In Ghana recently, Nigerians were screaming the house down over closures of their businesses. Now multiply that a 100 fold and you just begin to feel the pain the Igbo s will feel when their businesses are shut all over Nigeria. Also, it's delusional to think the Niger Delta are going with Biafra. Kanu is simply using them as a sweetener to encourage Igbo s support is foolhardy plan. 2 Likes 1 Share |

urahara: thanks for this article. I would suggest Ghana need a to focus heavily on the exports of manufactured goods. It is Labour intensive. Perhaps Ghana should set up 3 export processing zones and provide enough economic incentives so that massive FDI will flood it. 1 Like 1 Share |
