The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) on Thursday said that it had adopted Alternative Dispute Resolution (ADR) in resolving political and pre-election disputes. INEC Chairman, Attahiru Jega, told the 5th ADR Summit in Lagos that time had come for a change in the orientation of political actors. ``By its very nature, politics involves disagreements over political issues,but it is the management of these disputes that determine their peaceful resolution or escalation. ``The time has come for a major shift in the orientation of political actors in the handling of political and electoral disputes, ’’ Mr. Jega said. www234next.com/csp/cms/sites/Next/Home/5641443-146/inec_seeks_alternatives_to__election.csp? |
