Sheriman:

Don't mind them jaare. There are many of them here on Nairaland what they know how to do is to jump from one language to another. Learning Java today dump it for JavaScript tomorrow take on Django today dump it for Golang , Scala or Matlab tomorrow. You will see them claiming they have learnt 20 languages but they have not built remarkable functional application or website with it. These are the types of programmers that full Nairaland. What I Know is to learn one language strive to know know everything about it, develop great things with it provide solution to solve human problem with it read it always practice it even you can provide your own contribution to the language source.
is not by jumping. Is playing a gamble. You know php now. Tommorow most jobs will ask for django, node. You learn mongodb today, that job that would pay 100 million a year just wants knowledge of postgre. So is the job market that dictates.

lol. You have to study the solutions and then build a guide that would help you solve the problem with the tools.

I have been programming since I was 9 years old. Things were very different back then, but I was able to adapt with new technology over time. A word of advice to new programmers: You never stop learning. You don't "learn programming" and then you're done; there's always something new to learn, and you'll find yourself behind if you get comfortable and stop adapting.

I was around 12 and wanted to get into hacking, gained an interest in RATs and other malware. Booted up Kali Linux and created a virtual lab, soon discovered that I was just a dumb skid and if I wanted to break into the big leagues I would have to put in work and study my ass off, started learning C followed by the Windows API and took a course in networking. From there my interest spread into other areas like non-malicious software and the workings of computers in general, finally enrolled at a university and currently completing my CE degree. This all happened in the span of 5 years or so.
