In this changing economy, companies employ very few graduates with 2-1, Frist Class, below age 27. These companies have shutdown most of the their skilled departments like painting, carpentry, welding, fitting, catering, integrity testing etc. These jobs are now given out on contract to indigenous contractor, mostly from the host communities. These contractors do not have the capacity to keep permanent staff. They hire casual staff whenever their services are required by these multinationals. As a student or fresh graduate, in addition to the so-called employable skills, you need to acquire enterprising skills. If you can coordinate these services using your educational background, you can aspire to be the firm getting these contracts and harnessing human and material resources for execution. All you need to own an oil company (servicing firm) are highlighted below:
· Register with CAC as an enterprise.
· Get tax clearance from your state tax office.
· Get a letter head for your firm.
· Go to DPR website to obtain a general purpose permit.
· Approach these multinationals and submit your business profile.
When all these are done, your company could be the next to employ others to execute contracts.
