You can't blame the north alone on the issue of overpopulation or absentee parent, it is a nationwide problem, our culture and religion allow men to be irresponsible but the cultural practice in the far North is the worst.

We can't entirely blame it on Islam because the last time I check sub -Saharan Africa has the largest fertility rate in the world. Northern elites are doing something but when the foundation is faulty whatever you build on it will be useless. The elephant in the room is the conservative nature of most poor northerners, the colonialist help to cement the feudal system in the north due to the benefit of indirect rule, this allows for scholars and people with limited knowledge to have a say on how societies are been run, you have people that believe in the Ulamas than common sense or science then you will have serious problem.

Since the coming the democracy, many northern states have been trying to invest money into education, give incentives to the parent to send their children to school in most Northern States but such effort haven't yielded too much result because scarce resources.

Of course what is happening down there is bad, no one can deny that. As a matter of fact, on the other thread about those torture centres uncovered in the north, watching the video, i was alarmed at the number of dirty looking kids in the video and even called on the leaders of the north to do something about their birth rate and population explosion. One cant keep bringing kids they cant take care of into the world. That predisposes the society to way too many problems.

That said, the burning question here is, are there ulterior motives to most of these news on social media? And the answer to that question is YES THERE ARE!! The reaction, especially from a particular group of party supporters, bears credence to that.
