I inherited love for books, reading and quest for knowledge from my Dad.
He never went to secondary school or university. He finished only primary school in 1961 but maintained a library and collections of books and newspapers he read that include: LACOMBs arithmetic , The Cuban Revolution, Julius Caesar, Why we struck by Adewalw Ademoyega, copies of West African Pilot Newspapers, Concord, Daily Times, Spokesman, Lagos Tribune and so many historic books and magazines.

His passion for reading was transferred to me as I saw him read a lot why I was growing up and the thing became part of me. It equally affected positively my overall academic performance and growth in Corporate Nigeria.

I also inherited his proactive character. He is always slow to act as he takes his time to study things before making a move. He weighs all options and considers all situations. These I got from him.

Lastly, I got this from both parents. They are an extremely careful people. No taking chances. This is also part of me. They don't eat or drink where they don't trust.

This is front page worthy, but you people will never take my matter serious. grin

Anyways, what trait did you inherit from your parents?

My humble self,

My dad was a serial womanizer grin no doubt I got it from him. So badddd!!

Secondly he’s very neat and clean, always want everything to be where it should be. If he arranges his books and you litter them, be ready for serious scolding.

Third, he’s a music lover cry he was always launching latest and baddest sony speakers and amplifiers in the 90s and early 2000. Yours faithfully is a die hard music fan. I always go for the best and baddest speakers just to feel good songs.

Fourth. I get angry easily grin (I’m working on this)

Fifth, my dad so love dogs. I cried the day I lost my beautiful dog. My dog was very clean and used to sleep on my bed.

Sixth, I too resemble this man o!!! Carbon copy.

The surprising part is I never grew up with him nor lived with him.

So what trait did you get from your parents?

What about your Mother?

How to be stay smart and read situations at all times.

If there is one person who was always hard to outsmart and break his defense, it had to be pops.

I think he would have made a very good forensic analyst or detector. He was always calculative, recording each events mentally as if everything was a chess move.

This is why I like to always be coordinated so nothing hits me by surprise, I am always analyzing everything smiley

with Mom, it's a sweet talker. she can make an Iceman buy snow. I think I have stopped this as I done hurt females emotion in za past doing this for fun (scared of karma)

Skills. . .
My grandad never went to school but he was an exceptionally skilled mechanical engineer that worked and was so pampered by the white men that pioneered tin mining in Nigeria.
The skill was passed down to my dad. He was so good that companies like Nasco, grand cereals, zamfara textiles, dangote cements and lots more were dragging him with mouth-watering offers till tragedy struck in 2003 when i lost my mum. The skill was passed on to me before he died in 2014.

In my late twenties now and have successfully worked with numerous machines that i've not seen before. I just have this amazing ability to analize, decipher and resolve mechanical problems. I also fabricates all kinds of spare parts.

#not bragging
#true story
No offence but if ur grandad wasnt registered, with COREN , Im sort he wasnt an engineer.... Let's start getting things done the way it is supposed to be in this god damn country

Except you are not educated think about it why do we go to school is it not for problem solving huh so my advice is always learn to be quiet and avoid those who cause you pains

There's a time for subtle ness and there's a time for being explicit.im not literally telling him to break bottle but there are times , you will need to display. Certain people wont understand how far you are willing to go if you dont show some form of aggression. It might not be physical but the type that speaks louder. Plus there are problems books cant solve

My mother's shy nature. She's an introvert as well. I don't like meeting people, and I shy away from conversations and i don't like going out Thank God for the University, i decided to come out of my shell but once i while, i go back in.

My dad is a smart and intelligent man. He's funny(crazy sense of humour) as fvck, and the king of sarcasm, you can never be bored when he's around, stubborness (my stubborness is the conserved type) and lastly, his height. My old man is over 6ft. I got those traits from him

Looks - I look so fucking like him.

Temper - I get irritated easily and just go off like a bomb without warning. Working on this though. He just recently began working on his temper

Cleanliness - can't stay in a dirty place. Dad will never stay in a smelly place

Smartness - The man had a very sharp brain... I mean, super sharp and I too.

Conscience - I have this conscience that bites me hard everytime and he has it also.

Integrity - we both keep to our words.

Wickedness - Naim be my boss... I dey follow am for back
how can you have a conscience and be wicked? The two can't go together. Noticed many people here ascribe wickedness to their fathers.

Places like USA or other developed western countries. It's socially universal (even in Nigeria) except in Islamic societies thank to white knights and simps. It still doesn't change the fact that "never hit a woman no matter what" is a maxim and an ideal of weak men.

Traits I inherited from my dad

Spending extravagantly but still saving for the rainy days.

Softhearted

Lover of peace

Caring: Even if I dislike you, I can’t turn the other side when I see you suffering. And if I like you, jeez, it will be like I’m the one suffering cef not you.

What they say I inherited from mum

Controlling:I always gauge the people I meet. If I feel I can’t control you to a degree, I’ll just leave you.

Saying hurtful things when angry: I’m working big time on this, for the sake of my husband and children.

Hardly smile outside the house

Always finding a solution to everyone’s problems

My dad likes to play with wires - electrical connections (Come to our family house and see wires everywhere...but he nearly burn our house one time sha grin)...and the man did not even study a science course.
I also love electrical stuff, in fact, I just did one kind connection like that before leaving my house for work this morning grin

My mum loves book and I am following her footsteps...I am on track to getting at least 2 Masters degrees and maybe a PhD grin

Well the conscience only kicks in when I've done wrong or about to do wrong

As for the wickedness.. it's not wickedness per say but kinda like "unbending, straight and firm" when bent on not budging to anyone on some matters or when I'm to deal with someone who has effd up big time after constant warning

Read what he said again.

He said he doesn't care whether a younger person greets him or not.

He didn't say he doesn't greet people.

I think he is better than people who hold grudges simply because someone did not greet them.
