Well, well, if you ask me, I will say ugliness is not something you decipher only through facial or physical postures. Your outward appearance may look fair as it seems but who knows 8f the lady is talking of your inner ugliness which only you and those that are close to you can attest, confirm and testify to.

So you have to check not just your facial looks but also other windows through which you can be assessed.
