And this is front page news! A train had mechanical fault a short distance from its destination station, passengers chose to trek the few minutes' walk to the station because they could not exercise some patience for the problem to be fixed and somebody is making news of this. If the train's lights could be seen as it approaches the station, the train could not have been as far as1000 metres away. All these confused eggheads, do they think situations like this dont happen in other countries?

We shouldn't be taking pride in validating negative things that happen in other countries if we are not ready to also compare the level of positive developments in those countries. I am sick of seeing comments like this saying it happens in other countries so it's fine. Hold yourselves to a higher standard for once Nigerians!!

1 Kilometer una dey complain? No wonder oga @ the top dey call the youths lazy. When we dey go school for village, we dey trek more than 7 km every morning and still reach school before 7 : 20 am, 5 days a week, during school sessions
in Nigeria there are two categories of bad youths; the lazy youths and the stupid youths.
You sir, trekked alot it seems, you are not lazy. Considering that the ride wasn't free and the year we are now, I just have to conclude that you fall on the second part of bad youths.

Facts of the Matter about the Abuja - Kaduna Train Break-down
By OMA | 28-11-2019 | Politics |

Machines would always be machines
Kada train.jpeg
That the Train took off from Idu Station in Abuja and was Heading to Kaduna.

That it had travelled to almost just about 1,000 meters close to the Rigasa Station In Kaduna.

That, at about this distance to the Rigasa Station in kaduna, the Train had developed a fault and stopped.

That Passengers had to disembark the Train and trekked a single kilometer (1,000meter).

That there was no issue whatsoever as the passengers were escorted with Both the Policemen aboard the Train and the ones drafted to the Rigasa station.

That the passengers didnt go through any form of distress and found their ways from Rigasa Station in Kaduna to their various destinations..

Guess what, Social Media Hate speech experts started to report the train broke down 1,000 Kilo meters to Kaduna.. cheesy cheesy cheesy

People that dont know that Even from Lagos to Abuja is not upto 1,000 Kilometers sef, not to talk anywhere from Abuja to Kaduna which can never exceed 200 kilometers..

People that wants to spread falsehood of the Train services first of all should know these trains are mechanical machines and can develope faults once in a while as this is the very first of such incidence ever recorded, so could be pardonable.

But every effort to discredit train services provided by this Buhari's Administration would fail woefully as passengers along this Abuja - Kaduna route had always testified of excellent Train rides and a one off event as this can never tamper with the reputation of the over all process.

Train Rides from Abuja to Kaduna are still the safest and fastest ways to commute between these two cities you would want to forget wailers testimonies.

Why is it wrong to report a failure of the transport agreement? Did the passengers pay the train operators for an incomplete trip? What if the train had malfunctioned half way through the journey?

You didn't make sense please.

when did they buy these trains with bogus amounts that's already developing faults. Am sure the minister and those that purchased this must have diverted large sums of Monies into their pockets and repackaged unworthy trains rejected by other countries for us to use.

Its not suffer mentality but the pure truth. All of them should have just stayed till the train got repaired

You have just proved my point again, the issue is not with the poor stranded people who decided to walk to their final destination. The issue is with the Nigerian government that lacks maintenance or accountability culture. Someone will lose their job if this happened to any Japanese train service. Someone can lose their job if a train is 2 minutes late in Japan, but again, our suffer head mentality in Nigeria will not allow us see these things as problems.

I am on the money on your personality. A grand victim of superiority complex on the pathway to delusion.Even if I have never heard of eugenics, isn't there google at the palms of my finger to take care of that.
Meanwhile Mr Intelligentsia, I have never been a fan of controlled breeding I am too liberal for that close-mindedness. Thought by your knowledge you should have known that until late 19th century only the Oyo stock of western Nigeria are known as or called Yorubas. That is what my statement about direct alafin descendants implied and not any air of superiority.

If you were on the train, your post is very sensible - the passengers deserved to be told what the problem was and steps being taken to resolve it. But i guess you got down the train because the station was just a walk away. Btw, NRC being a civilised organisation has apologised to the passengers.

It didn't happen in the bush, and even if it did, how is it front page material? Your other point is malicious libel and you should apologize to the railways engineers. It is precisely because of people like you that the senate is proposing hate/fake news bill. Why should you judge the railways engineers by your own standard: if you would arrange with bandits, you think everyone is like you. The railways engineers are law-abiding gentlemen working tirelessly in the service of our "dear native land". The engineers are patriotic nigerians, not hypocrites/ criminals like ipobians.

It so-called patriotic Nigerian like you that tolerate incompetent and corruption. Today it's train break down tomorrow it refineries break down. Guess what Nigeria four refineries are still not working despite 5 years as Buhari as minister of petroleum.

Nigerians and gross indiscipline! Must you throw items from the window? See how passengers littered the side ways of the train coaches with used items.

It is sad how we behave in this country but when we go abroad, we start smiling hypocritically to the whites with fake accents and behaving as we are the most well-mannered.

You will even see some professionals and people that should know throwing things from their cars on the road. Some will sit and watch their kids wound down the window and throw things on the road.
I told my son when he was much younger that it is bad to throw dirts out the window of buses or on the road. One day we went out and I absentmindedly threw a wrap of gala out, the face my son made ehn! He said mummy, but you told me this, that the other time, I was ashamed and I had to apologize. I never did that again, instead, I drop in my bag and dispose when I get home
