Good day nairalanders, with the current situation of Nigeria the hardship is making many to take different decision on their career. Some are leaving bank job to travel outside, some are leaving lecturing job to relocate to first world country, some are opting for scholarships to move abroad, some are using tourist visa to migrate abroad. Among all these different route to travel abroad, I believe the best path is to go through study means with funding/scholarships but as the adage goes not all fingers are equal. Not everyone can meet the requirements for a student visa.
I need candid advise from my wonderful nairalanders who has & still having the abroad experience to help me out in regard this decision I wanna make........
I graduated from university with a CGPA of 2.6(second class lower) reason been dat I sponsored myslf in school. I so mch do different hustle wen in sch to meet up demand as no family to help out & this affected my performance in school. But las las boy graduate. Finished my nysc, I must tell u it hasn't been easy. No job, I majorly depend on running errands for people & whatever change I see I use it to sustain myself but I can't continue this way. Recently, one of my oga that took me as a son said he loves my hustling spirit dat if I travel abroad with this kind of energy cus am 27yrs that I ll make it as abroad is not 4 lazy person. He is willing to sponsor me to travel to UK on a tourist visa to hustle. Now my questions;
1) is it wise for me to accept the offer as a young guy?
2) which first world country can I move to with a study visa with a second class lower university degree that accept sch fee payment on arrival not before arrival?

The reason why a lot of people find it difficult to truly settle abroad is that they came with the wrong intentions. You get a tourist visa, then purposefully fall out of status and start running helter-skelter because you can't rest. Why would you want to do that to yourself?

Alternatively, you can get a study visa if you put your mind to it, become a professional and the country will be willing to offer you a place to stay. There are various options available for that. You can go through plenty of scholarships available and from there sort yourself. You just need to be ready for the opportunity. Let your sponsor give you the funds or hustle it, write standardized tests, make Google your friend and you will surely see something that fits.

I wish you luck in whatever decision you make

Find your way as a man with tourist visa in UK shocked

Have u seen threads opened here about hustling in UK?

Go to UK travel visa let those in UK tell you the situation of things there before u land yourself in trouble. I don't even think they will give you the tourist visa. You are jobless, nothing to hold on at home, they probably know u want jabada.
Tell the man to give you the money to hustle with in Nigeria. Wayo man.

This is on point. Never travel with tourist visa. You will only be shortchanging you destiny. Write standard tests, I mean GRE and TOEFL/IELTS. Dont like your GPA borthers you much with a good score in those exams you are already on your way to funded graduate program in the the state and you won't regret in some few years to come on the decision you took. Once again, dont shortchange your destiny by going abroad to move on tourist visa. You have already gotten a degree go for graduate study and you see funding after upping your game my writing standard test. All the best in your future pursuit

You need to imbibe the attitude of research if you really want to go for graduate studies abroad. No one will give you information when it can be sourced by just tapping fingers. Follow the route of standardised examinations. At best, a second rate university can admit you or at worse a third rate university. The koko is that you will be funded by the university but this requires hard research. You will likely spend more than a million naira on this tourist visa and living expenses but I assure you that you won't spend up to a million pursuing graduate studies (including travel and living expenses).

In today's migration climate, going illegally will be a horrible experience for you and the UK sef isn't a place to "hustle".

On a tourist visa to hustle? You boss must be out of touch with reality.

Your best bet is Germany.

You are about to make catastrophic decision... An impending disaster.

To be warned is to be forearmed.

That's not outrightly true, If you can write essays. Register an account on fastweb.com and browse through the scholarships page. Most of them are essay based and not cgpa based. I got a $5000 scholarship there in 2018.

Just research online, you will get opportunities.
Ps. I also had 2.2 ( 2.8 ) from naija, and established my way out

Ok, I would try as much as possible to walk you through this process as I could and try to ask as much as possible questions you have and provided I have the access to this thread I would always answer you. Back to your question, GRE cost little bit above $200 and TOEFL cost little bit below 200 dollars but to be kindid, you can always find some centers runs cheap fees for these exams. I would advise you to follow thread on US student thread on travel section in nairaland. NB: start using Google as much as you can because nearly all answers to any question can be found on Google. You will be amazed how you would need depend on Google once your travel out of Nigeria because no one tell you much in abroad.
