The polical class and elites have really caged the youths of this country.

Back to Christmas story? Does it look like any Christmas in the corner in Nigeria? This is not what Christmas used to look like.

There's no single Xmas tree anywhere in my Local government.

This is purely a reflection of the hardship in the country, which I personally blame the youth for.
They want enjoyments and "jollification" but they are the laziest of youth in the entire world.

Akwa ibom state government does not sell rice but Ibom Agricon rice mill located in Ini Local governments area of AKS, mills and sales Family rice brand which is the best in Nigeria at the moment.
You can buy family rice wherever rice is sold in Nigeria.

Uyo is currently the best place to be in Nigeria, it is serene, it is clean, good road network and a city on the rise with a government that's responsive to the needs of the citizens within the limits of limited resources.

Are there jobs there? Not the one somebody will pack there now and end up broke, sleeping in that Christmas village on the floor.

I served in Uyo about a year plus now, ikot biofung to be precise close to Brewery PLc.. Uyo hav good and smooth road network no doubt, few vehicles are found in most major roads. As easy as life is there, I still see a lot of set backs and unpleasant things about the state as a whole. Even with the oil money the state enjoy, it still far below expected. I discovered there are no available jobs to start a good life with, business is not blooming because common people of the state complain of no money, apart from government House and schools, most establishment found in other city or state in Nigeria are missing. the young people are lazy and Jobless, only the responsible ones do bikes, Keke and mini bus transport business. I don't agree with you that Uyo is most beautiful city. during the time, I visited Calabar city, I was wow, Calabar is far above uyo in terms of serene and development. I also discovered young people of the city do travel to Lagos, porthacourt and Onitsha for greener pastures, if the state is that cool or prosperous, there won't be many people of the state trooping to Lagos.. the reason why the roads in Uyo is still sharp, apart from solid construction, no serious traffic movement on the road on daily basis
lets be factual, city like Lagos, Abuja, Calabar and kano still have better serene environment than Uyo.
@Op, come let me wow you by taking you around some parks in Lagos and you will be amazed at what you will see.
I still stick to Lagos, when it comes to fun and amusement, but the serious problem is stress in getting down to the locations because of traffic.

At least in Akwa ibom in the past 4 years we can point to where jobs are created.
1)Kings flour mill onnaAKS 500tonnes of wheat processing .
2)jubilee syringe manufacturers. Largest producer of medical syringes in Africa with capacity for 400millon syringe per year.
3) electricity meter manufacturer onna Nigeria
4) lion plywood industries onna Nigeria
5) ibom airlines over 350 direct jobs and many more indirect jobs.
6) ibom integrated farms, a Songai farm initiative in onna
7) Ibom prime hatchery and poultry Uruan Nigeria
Itam industrial park with several SME factories including tooth picks, pencils, bulletproof doors, plastic mouldings, bamboo etc.
9) st Gabriel coconut and palm kennel refinery in eastern obolo.
10) All the general hospitals has been renovated and reactivated and digitalized with several new medical personnel employed.
This is just to mention a few not to talk of those employed for the construction companies that are working in different parts of the state.

How many jobs has Nigeria created in the last four years?
I have listed some of the jobs that the Akwa ibom state government has facilitated/created.

The vice president yomi Osinbajo has been in the state twice and personally opened 4 or 5 of this factories.

I love the way these leaders of akwa Ibom is promoting the state.

They always have new things to add every year to keep attracting people to the state.


Seriously, many people go to school to learn nothing. People just go to school, acquire knowledge and then submit themselves willingly for enslavement.


All over the world, governments do not create jobs. Governments do not create direct employments, private sectors do.
But those private sectors can only thrive when the government policies and amenities will Favor the private sectors.

Akwa Ibom has been show casing the state with beautiful scenery. It is peaceful, get a good road and other basic amenities and watch people start relocating there, and before you know it. The economy of akwa Ibom will be booming.



That is why one France spent billions to build Eiffel Tower over the years, I am sure if it were to be here In Nigeria, many people will call it a big elephant projects. But we know how much tourists that tower brings to France on yearly basis.

The amount of money spent in building that tallest building in Dubai can’t be recovered in 50 years. But we know the indirect positive effects it is bringing to them.

Give us good amenities and good policies and forget about the economy, the private sectors will drive it to the promised lands , but many people do not have fore sights.

Overrated city without frequent electric power aside ikot ekpene road and few other streets. Though the city and the state as a whole has the best and sweet road network but things ain't moving well there.

Aside Abuja, Lagos, and perhaps 2 other cities, uyo is the best place to be.

This should have been done elsewhere and not the green zone.
