Good day everyone, this is a counter thread to the thread that made front page days ago saying that Olamide Baddo has lost his relevancy in the music industry.

https://www.nairaland.com/5586891/olamide-badoo-career-artiste-ended

Over the years Olamide has set a very high standard for himself in the industry to the extent that he is the only artiste compared to Wizkid and Davido, even though he sings majorly in Yoruba. Olamide is now expected to produce artiste of the year performance every single year because of this standard. Olamide's 2019 would be the best year of most artistes in the industry, but because of this same standard, his year seems poor.

The writer also said Olamide releases this year never left the studio roof, OK let's take a good look at the top 10 searched songs this year, they are:

Joro – Wizkid
Dangote – Burna Boy
Brown Skin Girl – Beyoncé, Wizkid, St Jhn
Woske – Olamide
Pawon – Olamide
Risky – Davido
Billionaire – Teni
Oil and Gas – Olamide
Uyo Meyo – Teni
Blow my mind – Davido, Chris Brown

Olamide had 3 songs in the top 10, the most of any artiste, and his songs never left the studio. Did he pay people to search on his behalf?

Let me bring it to your notice that Olamide was almost always away from the country from the last quarter of 2018 up till this year because his family is not based here and his wife was pregnant, he had to travel out often, I can recall fireboy said he never saw Olamide until about 2months after he was signed.

Fireboy's career might as well be a reason for Olamide's performance this year. Olamide made sure fireboy was well heard across Africa, even to the extent of dropping a solid debut album on his very first year as a professional artiste, the album was dropped towards the ending of the year, which is Olamide preferred period for dropping albums. Olamide had to shift his own album to next year so as to have enough time and strength to push fireboy's own extensively.

Olamide's Concert is on the 23rd at the Eko Atlantic, VI for those that said he would not be doing any OLIC concert this year, there is a change of name this year as it is now "Olamide is Made in Lagos concert".

Olamide is a treasure to the industry, he has been involved in the growth of more artistes career than any other present day artiste, Olamide is the best thing after don jazzy that has happened to the industry when it comes to business, and you think he would not channel that business idea into his own career.

The end to Olamide's dominance is not near as he still has more years of solid relevancy in this industry.

Long live King Baddo
