What's interesting is that, many would see this and still not have it in their hearts to give, if only just a little..

I thank God for giving me a compassionate heart. Giving is culture to me and it has been so since i became sensible, not because i have but because i understand it's importance and spiritual implications.

I saw a clip on Facebook a few years ago. This homeless man was given 100 dollars by a guy who was trying to understand the reason many people end up homeless and what they do with the little change they get from kind-hearted individuals, unknowing to this homeless man they were filming from afar.

He took the money, went straight up to a liquor shop, bought snacks and drinks. Then left to the park where there were other homeless people and began giving out what he bought to them. The guys were so touched that they ran to him, took him aside and asked him, "do you know these people?". His answer was "No", but he understands what it means to be in a helpless and hopeless situation. That not all homeless people are alcoholics and drug addicts, he went further to tell his very touching story.

The dude gave him another 100 dollar and told him to keep this one for himself. I was crying. If a homeless man could have it in his heart to give then what excuse do you have?

My pastor said yesterday that "no excuse would be tenable for anyone not to be able to give 1 cup of rice atleast during this period". People should try to cultivate the habit of giving, not for social media appraisals or validation like we have these days but because it's fulfilling and of course it's more blessed to give than to recieve.

He can never feel the helplessness of the unprivileged, what afflicts them is not only physical but mental, while he can recreate the physical lack, he can’t the mental anguish they suffer often from acute hopelessness

He's testing people's willingness to give, not himself. Why is this difficult for you to understand? Your sermons was unwarranted

Son of late pastor Bimbo Odukoya, Jimmy Odukoya disguised himself during this yuletide season as a homeless man to see how people will react in kindness or otherwise. He stormed a shopping mall and the reactions were classic.

Please read from verse 10 to 20. ..Thats Mattew 13:12 wrongly quoted. The disciples asked him why he keeps speaking in parables and that was his reply up there.

It is not in anyway related to God taking away the little belongings of a poor man. How does that even sound to you.

Season's greetings.

Wow.

Good to know that we still have people with a good heart in this country.

And yes I would do (I always do assist) with anyone with such issues. And if I don't have much on me, I LITTLE POLITE ANSWER WILL HELP.

Some people are straight up terrible. It takes nothing to be nice and helpful to someone- even if you don't have what the person needs at that moment, your good vibe to the person will be always remembered.

Those people you are helping in the shopping mall don't really need it. They could afford what they want to buy that's why they are in a shopping mall if not, they would have gone to Iya Basira, the one that sells provision in Kiosk down their street to buy.

Those who actually needs help are those living under the bridge, those that live in the ghetto, those labourers who do dirty jobs. Those who beg on the road side needs this gesture not this one's in the shopping mall.

Oga go and help those people under the bridge since these people in the mall don't need kindness too and don't forget to film yours for nairalanders hypocrite.

Great. Did anybody notice the first lady that rejected him, was still looking at him with disgust as she wanted to exit? She was still wondering why the lady was shaking hands with a"mad man" and still laughing with him. The funniest thing is that she may even be a Christian and probably attends their church because that spar may be the one closer to their church, fountain of life. This life , little help at times may turn things around , though some too will land you in hell of a life and wanna make u regret.
And that Granma na real African mama.
"Didn't you see the price before you take it? Eh? Sha put it. Puuut it. Puuut I will pay". They will first scold you first before showing love.. Awon maaami to ma live long ..grin grin

Lols you should really thank God you have half of your annual salary. Some people truly have none.
The welfare team and I gave to the needy yesterday. I will post pictures soon.

Glad to know you took that bold step with a welfare team. My CSR project started today in Osun/ Ondo state, visiting couple homes for the needy with my widows mirth. I'm trusting God to bless you much more than your desires. See you at the top bosslady

Wow, this is very interesting, I love the movie, it's really a movie, lovely one.

Let's be kind to others and show some love not just during festive periods but at all times as long as it is within our capacity.

May God empowers us to do so always.

Merry Christmas in advance to all my fellow Nairalanders. One love.

He went as a homeless man to those who most likely can afford to help the homeless.... those shopping at the mall. What he did would hopefully inspire those who receive to share their experiences and reach out to help the homeless and underprivileged under bridge or wherever they may be. Maybe he already did so... but why not get others to reach out?

He sounds entitled like these people owe him stuff.

Does he know who came there with their last card?

I doubt even Jesus assisted every single person who asked him for help.

Sometimes circumstances might not permit.

It could even be just apprehension...

We are a superstitious bunch, and some people will think you want to do jazz with their destiny.

You can use this single act to judge/shame the people who didn't help.

The least he could have done was blur their faces.

No, he didn't sound entitled. Did you not notice that all he wanted to see was their reaction. The last lady turned him down, but he could tell she didn't have enough money and would have helped if she did. He went on to pay her bills.

The lady prayed for him.

This is very helpful, You see, if all those rich folks out there understands the important of giving to the needy , there will be little or no street beggers outside, or under the street. @Blessed Memory@Pastor @Bimbo @Odukoya RIP

You how many times have gone to all those places to give out things. You think because its a mall its more expensive? Better reason well

For those saying he went to meet the rich that don’t need anyone to pay for their stuff... well I think the message really is that it’s those who have that find it difficult to help others.

I remember trying to raise funds for a little niece’s foundation for motherless babies and it was so difficult for people that were very comfortable to give as little as five to ten thousand because it was something they weren’t going to directly benefit from and I felt so bad.

Even me I gave much more than that particularly because of what it was meant for.

You will be surprised at how stingy people could be until you have a pressing need... may we not have a need that will make us beg those that will mock us in Jesus name.
