@Sisi_Kill, Are you certain that this is the same @Bawomolo. Can I get a phone number or address to call for this dude please? That someone is missing online for some days is no confirmation that the person is dead. I work online 24/7 myself but I do go offline sometimes.

Who here has @Bawomolo's real name and phone Number? Or is even a Facebook friend if that is around?

May his gentle soul RIP
Any more details?
Was this just a random drive by? Any connection between him and those losers? Not that it matters, just curious!

Now everything else matters not.
May God continue to be with his family,
Surely, these are trying times for them.

Oro nla leda, eh eh, Oro nla leda, eyin ti e pa omo Naija ti e je o dagba ooo, oro nla leda

No! No!
I don't understand, seriously. Is it Bawomolo, as in, the real Bawomolo?

I sincerely hope he's not the one. He can't be.

His real name is Olubusayo Awomolo, he's 21 and he attended the Uni of Illinois, Chicago.

This link has a picture of him:

His facebook page:

Names, age, pictures, city and address are the same, I wonder what other confirmation is needed.

the thing about death !!! >>> i noticed it during my late mum's funeral >>> despite the inevitability people still find it hard to come to grips with

my condolences to his family >>> and to those Nairalanders who miss his presence >>> from the way he his described he is one person I'd have loved to debate
the lesson once again learnt is death is no respecter of age >>> Life !!! >>> sometimes it seems to be nought but vanity

I apologise for my earlier post, it was terribly distasteful and has been edited.

Pataki:

You will also be missed on the ARSENAL fan thread bawomolo. Surely, this is not the best of news to hear at this time.

Come to think of it, he's even an Arsenal fan sef, so we have lost a member? undecided

One KEY reason why I find it VERY HARD to live in US, it's like knowin that I'll die by GUN but I don't know when! sad
Re: A Nigerian Student Shot And Killed In Us by MissyB3(f): 2:48pm On Dec 03, 2010
Someone please prove he's not the one. We weren't close friends but this news is making me cry and I so don't want to believe it.

Funny, I always thought he was always ready to argue with me, even when there's no real cause to.
Too many thoughts right now - Where's he at the moment? Is he really the one? What if he is, what's his opinion of God's existence, now?

Isn't it funny how things work? January this year, some said he was shot.  . .and that was supposed to be a joke. Oh God!

Re: A Nigerian Student Shot And Killed In Us by UyiIredia(m): 2:51pm On Dec 03, 2010
i must comment on what i noticed >>> is it true that he was shot and the neighbors were so dull as to not bother to call 911 >>> well !!! if this is true >>> this fact further tells me that complacency is not alien in the US

my humble suggestion is that Nairalanders who live in close to his neighborhood visit his place to ascertain the truth of this *rather than sitting down here doing nothing* >>> if the bad news is true >>> the next step is to send a team who would send condolences on behalf Nairaland >>> eulogizing him the way some here have done >>> who agrees ?

What is it with Chicago and all these senseless young guys killings? I mean they did a rally last year about these senseless killings and yet nothing has changed. I really feel bad for this guy's family. This is another Nigerians death in Chicago that really touch my heart. Anybody remember Olamide Adeyooye, these victims are bright stars. RIP

I hope it's not him, but it sounds ominous with the confirmations from FB and the article.  undecided

If true this is a sad loss of a promising youth about to enter his prime. My prayers are with the family.

Please this thread does not call for big English. Just drop your condolences in simple English so that we all can grasp what you are saying. We are  in grief now and do not have time to check the dictionary. When in doubt, write in Yoruba.

There is a lesson the be learnt here o.

Why is it that every time someone dies, we start talking about learning lessons and living a holy life but after a day or two, it is business as usual?.
Re: A Nigerian Student Shot And Killed In Us by SweetT1: 3:04pm On Dec 03, 2010
You know this is one of those things i hate about this country, some A$$ wipe that stumbled on a welfare check goes out and buys a gun and starts his crime sprees on the innocent hard working victims.

We are all going to die some day, but everytime death is announced, one can't help but be moved because we are reminded of our own transiency and that we are fallible beings cry

Yeah he is a very clued up guy for his age, held very strong beliefs and opinions . . . i'm still holding out hope that  it is not him cry
Re: A Nigerian Student Shot And Killed In Us by SweetT1: 3:11pm On Dec 03, 2010
This is really sad to say the least, such a promising life. I'm in Total support of the death Penalty if they ever Capture the Bastard that killed him. If Illinois won't do it, Bring him to Texas. It won't take the jury 10 minutes to remove the junk from the society.

Actually the least some of you can do is go far away from this thread if you have nothing to say but throw potshots.

When someone you 'know' dies, emotion is triggered. We reflect on their lifestyle and/or on ours and different thoughts dance  left-right. After a while, we move on because it's meant to be that way. The world doesn't stop but, that doesn't mean the defunct isn't missed.

There's indeed a lot to be learnt.
After all the insults on NL and all . . .You still care about people on NL and their well-being, even though you never met them. This, I learnt today.
