When a man says he is fed up and ask that the woman should go,of which most times,they will not by giving flimsy excuses that they are around to support and care for their child or children so that another woman will not mistreat them. The drama between the Oluwo of Iwo and his estranged wife, Chanel chin doesn’t seem to be ending anytime soon.

The Jamaican queen, who was wife to the Oluwo of Iwo kingdom, Oba Abdurrosheed Adewale Akanbi Telu 1, was sent packing from the palace last weekend alongside her child. And since then we haven’t had the last of them.

This morning, the estranged wife, Chanel posted an encryptic message on her Instagram page that reads:

She knows who she married so she should be ready for more drama. Oluwo of Iwo has released statement telling her to drop all titles but looks like she still wants to hold on to it for pride. She also didn’t want it announced that the marriage had broken down. The fact is with all celebrity marriages as they announce the Union, so must they announce the divorce.

She has left his kingdom so, he cannot do much but grumble. She better respect herself and get on the flight. I trust Nigerians to start rubbishing her when she starts struggling here financially. We know Oluwo is not as buoyant as they want us to believe.

However, she needs to stop parading herself as queen before she is further rubbished. If she wants nothing to do with him again then she should distance herself from him. He has to take care of his child though.

She saw that he abandoned his first wife in Canada with kids. Then she even further claimed she was the one and only wife, throwing shade. Not knowing that her turn to be abandoned is coming. She should quietly return to Canada before his Emperor Telu further finishes her here and, people start mocking her.

Why should she return to Canada? She is an African and a legal resident of Nigeria.

You guys know that some guys, call them deranged or whatever, enjoy other people left over as long as they are called wives. In this case the ex-wife of a Yahoo king.

On matters like this I first allow few hours to weigh the situation before responding.

1. It is clear Kabiyesi is upset with his Queen.

2. I would beg him in name of ancestors to please calm and handle this situation with discretion.

3. Oba is a father to all, including his wives. Kabiyesi must talk to Olori as he would to his daughter if she had upset him beyond reasoning.

4. Kabiyesi should please stop typing any more responses to her.

5. Olori is a female gender, she is doing what females do when hurt. They talk and find solace. She is looking for support from other women and not necessarily targeting Kabiyesi. Her note shows a feeling of vulnerability and hurt. Allow her to pour out her pains and connect with her feminine sisters and get the necessary emotional support for herself.


I do not know the background to the story but I am truly shocked at the Oluwo Council of Chiefs and Priests that they allowed the Queen to be treated in this manner.

She left everything she knew to come with the King to Nigeria and has been a Queen for 4yrs. She has a child for him. When Kabiyesi rejects her, a comfortable abode should have been made available for her and her child, away from Palace and away from Town so she could have option of living and raising her child in Nigeria. To kick her out of palace and hand a travelling ticket and hotel key to her is a bit of a stretch. It could have been done more decently and her dignity protected from public humiliation.

We have not heard the last of this drama.

When Olori arrives back in Canada book and movie brokers are going to bombard her with unimaginable offers for exclusive rights to publish and air her experience as an African Queen. They will portray Oluwo with a bottomline for dollar....with no respect or honor. It will be their story, not his!

I hope it is the culture and legacy of Oba in Yoruba land that you are more concerned about and not this boy-king.

Do not forget that he had disgraced the high office many times before including keeping the Ooni waiting before Ooni could get back to his seat. One of the police escort had to tell him, he was standing in Ooni's way.
