I'm not sure how to go about this but I need advice on what to do.

Last year in March, I sent some money to a family friend living in Australia. He helped me buy a car about 3 years ago and sent in down to Nigeria where I live. So my friend asked me to get him to help us buy another. He asked me to send part of the money which was about N500k. I did and he said he would get back to us. After a month when we hadn't heard from him, my friend said he didn't want to buy the car anymore and asked for a refund.

I usually communicate with him via WhatsApp and I told him what happened and he assured me he would issue the refund in 24 hours. He never did. For the next two months my friend was hounding me for for his money. In june, he finally took me to court and I was made to payback the money to my friend. I even had to sell my car to raise the funds.

In November last year the guy in Australia finally called me apologized for not responding to the hundreds of calls and messages I had left him and promised to send the money within the next two weeks. Since then he hasn't responded to calls or messages.

Every message I send to him, he reads but never replies. His calls ring but he never picks up and he never returns them. I have paid the money to my friend in Nigeria and I don't want him to just get away like that. I lost my car for this and I feel he must pay me back what was sent to him.

The problem is that I am in Nigeria and he is in Australia. If he was here, I would simply go to the police. I don't know what to do and any advice I can get here would be highly welcome.

Keep persuading him, someday he will see you chasing him in his Australian dreams and refund you with interest.

If I may ask, why buying cars from Australia? Is it cheaper there or what? There's still something you can do to him if you are ready to make him loose too.. Call their emergency number over there and report that he has been scamming people over here and seeking refuge over there.. you can search for their email online and do that.. or even on Twitter.. am sure he will see that and definitely reply you..

Omo no be bad idea o. 500k for this time and age no be small money. But his brother dey Lagos and I dey Abuja. How I for fit run am? Work no go gree pesin go Lagos go start case.

Go to your bank and report the transfer. They will send a reply to his bank and freeze his account. Then go to his relations house and disturb them for like a week. After that, Then find 30k give Police. Let them be like 3 that will follow you to his family house or relations house and make sure say police obtain one or two of them. No hear anything.
