Five nations whose citizens were on board the Ukrainian international airliner shot down by Iran will meet in London on Thursday to discuss possible legal action. This was disclosed by Ukraine’s foreign minister, Vadym Prystaiko, who spoke to Reuters news agency on Monday. Prystaiko said the countries would also discuss compensation and the investigation into the incident.

“We have created this group of foreign ministers from the grieving nations. On January 16, we will meet in person in London to discuss the ways, including legal, how we are following this up, how we are prosecuting them [Iran],” Prystaiko said.

Iran had, on Saturday, admitted that its military “unintentionally” shot down a Ukrainian jetliner, killing all 176 on board. It also attributed it to human errors. This was after Tehran had denied being responsible and kept the world in the dark for days.

Iran was not trying to please her citizens. They activated their air defence systems after firing missiles at US base in Iraq, Iran was in a defensive mode expecting a repraisal attack from US. They mistook the aircraft for one of US heavy bombers. America did this in 1988 when its naval ship shot down an Iranian civilian aircraft over the strait of hormuz killing 290 Iranians onboard.

But Iran should have closed its airspace against civilian airliners before firing at US. It was a fatal mistake

The US-Iran drama is not funny. A deadly mistake that made the loyal citizens, who had earlier cried that US is an enemy, are now protesting against the government, saying, "US is not our enemy!"

This regime, like that of Saddam, will one day crash. Iranians seem to be having their eyes open to reality.

Let's see what happens next, but I strongly believe no WW3 is on the way. Forget it.

I Hope that Nigeria sent their representative to the meeting too? Since there was a Nigerian among the victims, I assume they will do that
