I have a cousin who is well to do and lives in the US. She ships stuff to Naija from time to time. She told me the last time she shipped stuff to Naija, she was disappointed and that would be her last for a long time.
Story was She said, she was personally on ground in US when her container was being loaded with her items and other people's items that she had decided to help ship to Naija along with her stuff.
Only for it to berth in Lagos, and then she had it transported to her residence in Abuja, on getting to Abuja And opening it , only to discover 2 deep freezers and other people's smaller items were missing in the container. Some of the items had been opened and repacked to look like nothing was tampered with. She called clearing agent , he was giving stories and claiming container was not fiddled with.

In summary , it's a year plus since this happened. 1st she doesn't live in Lagos and coupled with the fact her wedding was coming up at the time , she did not follow up and said she did not have the energy to pursue this case further.

Im throwing this to the house, who do you think is the culprit and what forms of redress is available if your goods shipped in a container is tampered with or missing?

Guys who are familiar with ports and shipping business, it would be nice to get your take on this.

So who is to be held responsible when this happens?
