KAHBOOM:

Its not by feed alone..Local chicken can lay eggs naturally on dere own without fertilization or feed but the eggs will never hatch cos it wasn't fertilized my a male cock.
shutup ..local chicken don't get fed with anything at all? What if their regular food secrets some hormonal stuff in them as well..the only difference is they wouldn't lay as many as the ones being fed with more hormonal stuff

Someone just told me these poultry chickens don’t fvck but they lay eggs continuously for a period of time. shocked shocked

How true is this?

When I was little I do see male hen chasing a chicken around, after which the male hen will pin the chicken down and slide in from the back. The thing will just slide in for like 2 to 4 seconds and it’s out. grin After which the chicken will lay eggs after a period of time.

So what kinda biological advancement will make a chicken lay eggs without getting laid??

Educate me!!!

PS: for educational purposes only.

Chickens have a cycle of laying eggs just that it's unfertilized and can't develop into a chick.
Only fertilised ones by male cockrels can hatch into a chick.
It's like menstral cycle, every menstral flow is an unfertilized egg, then if it's fertilized before hand by grin it develops into a baby.

Offpoint:
Same way females don't need sperm to lay their monthly eggs, same way chicken don't need sperm to lay eggs.

Those eggs is their own form of monthly daily menstruations...

Chicken sexual pattern is the most annoying of all creatures:
The cock will run millions of miles, jumped through fences, jumped fires and all sorta dangers and yet end up lasting just a second... Annoying
thanks o!! I didn’t know this before now.

hello, please what are the processes that enables cockerel to lay eggs?

Feeds. Although they do not lay like the layer breed, but if you feed them with layer feeds for sometime, you can get them to lay a few eggs.

It's never rubbish.. That you didn't know something doesn't mean when other says what they know and confirm, it's rubbish...

Possibly find out from those who sells chicken.. Even right in the cage where they sell, you will see eggs...

The egg is like the menstruation of the hen. Just that if it is not fertilized through mating by the cock, it will never hatch, but the hen will still lay.

lol ..I get your point bro..sorry about the shut up I said, but my point is that local hen do feed on something and not like they can survive without food .. there's possiblity that the food they are being fed with contains some quantities of that meal specially made to make them lay eggs..even those that depends on eating from the gutter/street ..it's possible those food they are picking contains some of those things which in return would make them lay eggs but not as much as those ones eating that specially made meal

You’re making a valid point but it’s not their feed Per-say.

It’s their Genetic composition!

Protein is the major supplement that’s needed for egg laying, then some other nutrient too. Nothing special.

Feed or no feed...They can still lay eggs!

Nothing don turn upside down finish...Chicken don dey lay egg for inside bush without human intervention, no be today.

How do you feed the Cockerels/Roosters to lay eggs? Chai never seen that before ooh lipsrsealed

Hens (mature female chickens) lay eggs irrespective of breed, fertilization or feeds...They get to certain stage and start to lay eggs. Cockerels, cocks or any other male chicken don't lay eggs no matter the amount or quality of feeds.
Layers are specially bred for egg production but since they are usually separated from male chickens they only lay table eggs (the ones we eat). Its like this, girls (humans) release unfertilized eggs monthly just as layers do everyday or every other day. However, hatcheries like Zartech, Chi, Obasanjo farms, Agrited etc use special methods like hormone manipulation and artificial insemination to produce and fertilise eggs in large quantities. These eggs are then incubated and hatched to produce the various day-old-chicks. Our local chickens are the real MVP, they mate at will and produce fertilized eggs which they incubate and hatch on their own.

NB: unfertilized eggs can never be hatched and male chickens (cocks and cockerels) can NEVER lay eggs.

The only true response so far

The fact that you agreed to the fact that roosters could lay eggs belies that. If we don't know something or aren't sure of something... we find out or google or read up on that thing before displaying ignorance.....i studied agronomy, a dept in the faculty of Agriculture.
