So my boys on patrol intercepted these guys that specializes in fabricating gas cylinders.

The materials these guys are using are of a very low quality and poor finishing. Just because of money see how people are putting other people's lives at risk.

When interviewed the two suspects told me they have been doing this for the past 2 years (probably more than that). Again I asked him if his company is dully registered with CAC and certified by SON, he innocently told me he don't know what those two are. My God!

For the safety of your life and that of your loved ones. Please buy your genuine gas cylinders from authorized sellers. I don't know mehn but I think NNPC, Oando and some others sell gas cylinders

A suspect is presumed innocent until proven guilty by a competent court of jurisdiction, which is why I blurred out their faces before uploading their pix. The one in the front with paint stained hands is the painter while the dude behind is the engineer/ artisan / fabricator or better still the bomb maker.

Please this should be pushed to the front page to enlighten the masses.

Lalasticlala, this one pass snake. Pls move to FP.

With a little education and perhaps quality control, they could actually be an authorised manufacturer of these cans, employing several youths.

Our mind set needs to move from shutting these guys down to upgrading them.

wow where the fùck is your brain mister. killers belong in jail, not to be 'upgraded'. now i realise the problem of Nigeria is the greedy and ignorant ones like you who place money above the wellbeing of fellow citizens

those things destroy many lives when they explode (it's just a matter of time, they will explode once deployed for use.

You should learn to express your opinion and respect other peoples own without being insultive, it makes you look stupid.

Simple questions that should be asked are:

- can they produce better products? Most likely yes

- did they have the means to produce better quality products? Most likely no, artisans like this typically don't have access to capital, struggle with bureaucracy to get necessary paper works and lack technical assistance provided to their mates in forward looking countries

- did they produce the cylinders with the intent to kill? Most likely no, they just want to earn a living doing what they they believe they are good at

- will society benefit if they are assisted in standardising production? Yes, employment, taxes, multiplier effects e.t.c

I have mixed feelings about this, seriously. while on one hand I feel they should be sent on loooooong jail term, on the other hand, I feel if properly schooled and availed the opportunity to ply their trade, they could actually become fabricators of high quality products tomorrow.......

Can you put such cylinders to use in your own kitchen? Do you think they don't know that what they are doing is illegal and dangerous? Of course they do!

The mastermind of that criminal operation is a welder who works with oxyacetylene and has an idea of the pressures and technicalities involved.

You on the other hand are a novice with no background in the sciences, and a dangerous fôôl arguing about something you know nothing about.

Don't mind this idiot @GidiWoodsMan, talking he has a background in science bla bla. You're probably not half the person I am, forget this is a faceless forum. Focus on the topic and stop being stupid comparing yourself to someone you don't know. Its not everyone you banter words with because you think you know or you are better than they are.

Local/cottage fabrication is a key pivot to industrialisation to every economy , what they need is massive government support. China did not start producing world class items overnight, they started with very substandard production, but with government support, they now have an overcapacity in many key sectors which they are exploiting to drive outbound investment in other countries manufacturing sectors.

fùck you dunce even a dog can claim to be a billionaire on the internet. where did i ever compare myself to a deluded nonentity like yourself, you're trash, you're simply an ignorant blockhead that will not take correction

very foolish man talking nonsense go to a gas cylinder manufacturing coy and look at their processes, the specifications required and safety systems inbuilt, instead of supporting evil criminals.

why am i even trying to educate you, you're obviously a lowlife criminal yourself...

Ị am an engineer before an officer. I know all about quality control and stuffs. Trust me cylinders are the killers here. I suppose you don't know that cylinders have expiry dates too no matter how finely crafted. Alloy metals should have been used in the production instead of what these guys employ here. Plus the electrodes used for the welding are of poor quality. The cylinders can easily sprung a leak and you know what that means. Like someone said, these guys are just irking out a living with no intent to harm anyone. But that's not an excuse. Michael Jackson's doctor has the intent of saving his life but ended up killing him....so you see, life is not fair. Ignorance of the law is not an excuse

Reverse Engineering should be done under controlled environment. If not one psycho will wake up one morning and nuke the whole country in the name of production. It's unfortunate the system makes it hard for indigenous production to thrive like China and India are doing.
