*YORUBA POLITICAL ENTANGLE: AFENIFERE - TINUBU COLLISION*
BY LAYENI ALIU.

It is no longer news that Afenifere, the Pan-Yoruba sociopolitical organisation, was created to champion the cause of the south west region to the best interest, and winning her influence in federalism.

It is interesting to note that *Afenifere first started as *EGBE OMO ODUDUWA*, that was established in 1945, when the the sage *CHIEF OBAFEMI AWOLOWO*, Professor Saburi Biobaku, Chief Abiodun Akinrele, D.O.A oguntoye,Chief Akintola Willams, Dr Oni Akerele, amongst others met in London.

On March 21, 1951, the group created a political party named *Action Group(AG)* led by Chief Obafemi Awolowo to serve as a driver in actualization of the group agenda.

After the demise of Awo in May 1987, the leadership of the group fell on Chief Adekunle Ajasin, then followed by Pa Abraham Adesanya during tumultuous military regime.

Going down the history lane, between 1999 and 2003, AFENIFERE led the south west region of the country with her party Alliance for Democracy (AD) as a result of her purported affiliation with a great leader and philanthropist Chief Obafemi Awolowo before his demise. The Yoruba people entrusted the party because of her source. In a short while, the party which dominated the region was down to one state ( Lagos) governed by Asiwaju Bola hammed TINUBU as a result of the party markedly undemocratic disposition of the Afenifere's.

The aforementioned Governor of the people switch into action by creating his own party Action Congress (AC) which relegated the afenifere's AD. Today, the afenifere's which has occasionally condemned the actions of the Tinubu support for 'Non-Yoruba' should be reminded of their support for President Buhari in 2007 when his vice was not of Yoruba origin. Also, their purported support for GEJ which is attitudinal disposition shows an insidious Anti-Yoruba agenda.

The Yoruba's today are respected In terms of political power and critical infrastructure, the alliance between Tinubu and Buhari has proven itself to be an alliance that has actually benefited the Yoruba nation on a number of levels, despite the initial schisms after the election. The Yoruba can attest to what we got out of our alliance with Goodluck Jonathan after we gave him our support in 2011 and after we influenced Former president, Late Umaru Yaradua to pick him as vice in 2007.

Today, Afenifere criticised Tinubu for going into an Alliance with Buhari and his resolutions about the Amotekun outfit without doing proper checks.
Asiwaju had over the years proven to be a great political figure in South West Nigeria, and his sacrifices had given Yoruba's a political influence.
“Whether the afeniferes likes it or not, Asiwaju Tinubu is a political pillar and leader, not only in Yorubaland but in Nigeria.

“He is a great politician who takes well-calculated political steps which had helped the Yoruba race as far the Country is concern."

My advice to the Afeniferes is to, turn Asiwaju into a case study to sharpen their political resilience.

Sometimes I ask myself what people like Tinubu still want, you are terribly rich, you have power, jst about anything u want.

why can't you think small, jst small of humanity, your people are getting killed, persecution-like, all you can think abt is 2023, wrote a long statement that smells of dele Momodu, which ended saying nothing. They call you BAT which says a lot, because bat is neither a bird nor terrestrial animal. You belong nowhere
