Good day all.

I have a 37 year old aunt without a husband but with 2 kids.
Her marriage of 10 years just crashed. Her husband left the country 7 years ago with the promise to come back for her but never did.
According to my mum, he used to send her upkeep for the children. The man however stopped late last year and she's been the fending for the kids which later crashed her business.
Now she was told 2 weeks ago her husband got married to another woman last year and wants a divorce.

The main problem is she has no money whatsoever with 2 kids. My mum has decided to help her with some money to start something. The question now is what kind of business can she do to sustain herself and her kids.

Already, she's making arrangements to move to a self-contained apartment and even at that, she would have nowhere to go if she cannot raise money to pay her rent.

Please any suggestion of a business that can bring something in is needed.... and it's urgent please.

Thank you.

1. A divorce will surely beget alimony. You (because you are your 'aunt') can still see if you can lecture part-time in schools (at least four).

Since the man is the one filling for divorce then your aunty should be ready to milk him dry. Whatever she raises from the divorce alimony could now be her startup capital in her investment. The money at hand would determine her area of investment.

The man has been fending for the kids while in Nigeria. He traveled abroad and kept fending for them. He stopped LATE LAST year and your aunt's business crashed like Sosoliso (RIP to the victims).

Let's all be reminded that this is only JANUARY,2020. Late last year should put us at Q3 - Q4, 2019. Your aunt's business crashed in record time.

Now you want another business idea. What your aunt needs is a business management course, not another business idea. No offence.

Anyway, the man should be made to take care of his kids. If he doesn't, I am sure there are ways your aunty can ruin his life in the abroad. That is if she has evidence of him being legally married to her.

She didn't finish school or learn any trade.
Also, my mum said they didn't do any wedding of any sort. That the man wasn't having much then.

They didn't have any sort of wedding. My mum said they just started living together cos there was no money.

Maybe she wasn't doing much and just depended on her husband solely. I'm sure she has learnt her lesson.
It's such a pity but, well... It's what it is.

If she stays in an area where light is sure, I would suggest start selling frozen foods.

I'm sorry I don't know how to mince words while showing disapproval but your aunt is the architect of her problem for copulating with sb she isn't married to.
.
Ladies who live with people who didn't man-up to marry them usually end up with regrets.
.
What is more? The harm has been done. She could venture into being a seamstress.

You're right jare.

She has to have something doing sef even if she wants to venture into that. Cos she cannot be learning and making for others in 1/2months.
Regardless, I'll table it before them.
Thanks for your input.

I'm about to give you a very bad advice.
Tell your aunt to call up her ex, and hook up with him. I'm sure she must have rejected a number of sane men for this selfish man she chose to saddle herself with.
Lesson for you if you're female: Marriage is not an opportunity to milk a man dry. Marriage is for matured people who can cater for their offspring and themselves.
No man will respect a liability of a wife, he can love you, he can pity you, but he can never admire you.
When we tell you people to have the number of kids you as a woman can cater for, you won't listen.

Where was your Aunt staying before her business crashed mysteriously?

Was she staying with your mom with the kids before?

This story is kind of confusing.

Her husband has been sending her money which i believe was for both the kids and herself, which reasonably includes rent.

So how did her business crashed and she is now looking for cash to move to a new home in less than two months?

Did she encounter a Genie?
