History shows only the king & few chiefs are of Yoruba origins. Only a part of the political & art history of Edo ties with that of Yoruba. There's no need to appropriate.

All points to the fact that both are same people. No twisting.

Edos are Yorubas

Moving back doesn't mean going back Benin but simply moving back to the root. To where you guys rightly belonged.

That's the right step to go.

You guys too like Nigeria. Always clinging to it with the last drop of their blood.

Op listed benin republic as part of greater Yoruba...even Togo and all an empire.

Move back to your old empire..

West/north their lifeline lies In Nigeria.

Can someone give us account of how different Yoruba towns came with their different dialects?

Too much actual intellectual work, but I'm sure some people can come up with something.

You're not serious. It must be added.

You don't want it added but you can add that others(Igbo) migrated from Benin. Is this not also distortion of history?

Only the Bini monarchy & certain Bini chiefs have Yoruba origin. Before the Yoruba encounter, Edo folks existed & after the encounter, the Edo folks continued to exist. Edo is Edo, they're not Yoruba.

Sometimes I tire for Nigerians

Bini has so much in common with yorubas....Is it names, food, words or even way of life.

You have olusegun in Edo and in yoruba
Same as Rotimi, Ade, even segun or something like that..

History has a correlation through oruminyan.

You may put it put under normal circumstances

Edo is yoruba and yoruba is edo....both. Has Oba as their king...

These are basic things we can see...I don't understanding what u guys are disputing.

Majority of Igbos in south east migrated from Igodomigodo, I have clarify that here before.

Again, stop equating Igodomigodo with Yoruba, the Yorubas already knows their boundary. Some certain chiefs in Benin migrated from Ife doesn't mean IDU children in Igodomigodo are Yoruba.

Dis is nt if Edo is yoruba or if yoruba is Edo, benin didnt migrate from ile ife, since yoruba is an almagamation of nations who traces their root to ile ife so therefore benin should be excluded

Some benin chiefs share ancestral root with Ife and they are not up to 2% in Edo State.

They migrated to Igodomigodo in 1170AD. That doesn't mean people in Igodomigodo are yoruba.

Igodomigodo has been existing for thousands of years with IDU children before these so called Oduduwa came from Sudan or whatever they migrated from to Ille Ife.

The original occupants in Ife are Obatala which Olugbo of Ugbo is a descendant of.

You dont just tell a story from one side, accordingly to d benins oranmiyan returned home and he returned with those sent by d benins to look for their son oduduwa who was oranmiyan father, ile ife didnt conquer benin so no need king on dem,d reason y dey sought to look for oduduwa was d same reason y it is dat d son of d father must take of over from d father not by voting or rotation
