See what a so called experienced lawyer is saying ? pay them off for what ?so being LocalGovt Chairman is about the pay instead of the work .which part of the Constitution allows for paying off elected officials? Are they employees of the governor? Both Chairmen and governors are employees of the Constitution. 36 Likes 7 Shares |

Why would they pay them off, they are to run their tenure. Paying off makes it look like it is all about the money. This Nigeria Politics is a scam of the highest order. 8 Likes |

Nigeria.... A land of wonders. Where politicians fight to remain in power just for the pay, rather than interest to make impact. Both the governor and the LG chairmen are birds of same feathers, they are only concerned about their selfish interests. 4 Likes |

All comments above show ignorant of law. They are elected into that post and the governor challenge the process that make them chairman. The governor can either allow them to spend their tenure or he pay them off and conduct another election. The governor will pay all their salary for three years. 16 Likes |

Continuity in government is becoming an issue. Also, the Local Government has continued to remain an appendage of the state government. The stranglehold is the same everywhere. This doesn't speak well of our democracy. 2 Likes 2 Shares |

What does the constitution says about what is happening in Oyo state local government? It's not just about paying the elected local chairmen off. |

What is Falana talking about? Govs have no right to remove elected officials. If the Gov jas any issues with how they got elected as LG chairman, he should go to tbe courts. It is impunity to remove them arbitarily. People MUST respect the constitution at all times. And this goes PDP or APC. 5 Likes |

Damidave1124:I'm trying to understand from Falana perspective. What is happening here is that the governor is challenging the process that brought the Chairmen not that they were properly constituted and the governor just decided to remove them. So to forgo legal time wasting, they collect the money knowing that their election had k leg for fresh elections or governor forgo the k leg and let them finish Personally I think the court should decide so that there will be a precedent in case another governor attempts another abracadabra in the name of local government elections 1 Like |

Seyi makinde the Audio Governor and hero of the wailers breaking the constitution. Small time you’d hear them shouting rule of law. Even Falana(I knew he’s two faced) is asking him to “pay off” constitutionally elected officers cos the governor feels the process that brought them in is faulty. Is the governor the court that will now declare an election faulty? 5 Likes |

ITbomb: Is it not the court that will declare an election to be faulty. When did the governor become a court of law that declares election faulty? Even if the case is in court, shouldn’t the chairmen be doing their work pending the outcome of the court. For example, It’s like Buhari saying an elected governor shouldn’t perform as a governor cos the election that brought him in was faulty. Falana is now saying Buhari should pay off that governor if he won’t let him perform his duty. Both Seyi Makinde and Falana are mad 13 Likes 1 Share |

Makinde the Audio guy, now he is sending thugs to attack them, some where injured in egbeda some in ogbomosho.. in fact Oyo state is back to the state of lawlessness and rascality, something Ajimobi would never allow They are now bringing Falana to seek out of court settlement by "Paying them off" , what concerns his lecture at UI with his unsolicited advise if he isnt biased, anyways thank God the elected LGA bosses are not riff raffs or low lifes, they are wel to do people . 5 Likes 2 Shares |

What was their governor Doing that led to them to be elected close to the end of his own tenure.. At least the total number of years for Local government chairmen is 3 years.. How come their tenure is extending beyond four years of their governor |
